  • "The Chairperson's opportunistic behavior... must be closely watched."

Former lawmaker Min Kyung-wook is interviewed by this newspaper on April 15, the sixth anniversary of the April 15 fraudulent election. ⓒHankuk IlboFormer lawmaker Min Kyung-wook of the former United Future Party (predecessor to the People Power Party) has expressed strong distrust in the direction of the special committee for parliamentary inquiry into the 'ballot paper shortage incident,' pointing out that Representative Seo Bum-soo, the committee's liaison for the People Power Party, has made statements denying past fraudulent elections.

On the 21st, former lawmaker Min stated on his social media service (SNS) that "Representative Seo Bum-soo is the person who pleaded with Democratic Party lawmakers in the National Assembly's Administration and Home Affairs Committee, saying, 'None of the People Power Party members on the committee believe in fraudulent elections, so do not defame your fellow lawmakers.'"

Min, who has dedicated six years to the fight against fraudulent elections as the standing representative of the 'April 15th Fraudulent Election National Struggle Headquarters,' made these remarks at a time when the People Power Party's leadership is distancing itself from the truth about fraudulent elections.

He pointed out, "Representative Seo's older brother, former Busan Mayor Seo Byung-soo, served as an honorary campaign chairman for Han Dong-hoon, who stands at the opposite pole of our struggle against fraudulent elections."

He then sharply stated, "Han Dong-hoon is the enemy of our struggle, who vehemently described the fraudulent election theory as a 'conspiracy theory consumed by far-right YouTube channels.'"

Regarding National Assembly Member Yoon Sang-hyun, the chairman of the special committee, Min said, "He is merely someone showing opportunistic behavior regarding fraudulent elections and President Yoon Suk-yeol's state of emergency decree," and urged, "Please keep a close eye on their every move."

Some in the political sphere predict that this special committee will only result in a 'containment' measure to downplay and control the situation, rather than fundamentally resolving the suspicions.
