North Korea has installed barbed wire fences up to 80-90 meters in front of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) and completed land clearing operations for mine deployment up to 5-10 meters ahead.

It has been confirmed that the North Korean military, in accordance with Kim Jong Un's directive of a "hostile, two-state" policy and "fortification of the southern border," has advanced to just before the MDL, erecting fences and burying mines.

Advance up to 5m from MDL... Demilitarized Zone Effectively Militarized

This is the first time it has been confirmed that North Korean barbed wire fences are located within 100 meters of the MDL across the entire western, central, and eastern fronts.

In particular, the land clearing operations, a preliminary step for mine laying, have already been completed up to approximately 5-10 meters in front of the MDL. It is understood that some sections may even be seen as encroaching south of the MDL from the South Korean perspective.

Furthermore, tactical roads are being constructed behind the barbed wire fences for the movement of border patrol vehicles, indicating a significant expansion of the North Korean military's forward operational radius southward in the future.

Military experts have criticized this as a "dangerous act that nullifies the buffer function of the DMZ and increases the possibility of accidental clashes," stating that North Korea intends to solidify its self-proclaimed line as the actual MDL.

Unprecedented Large-Scale Manpower Deployment... Construction Period Shortened by Over a Year

According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea has currently completed the construction of fences for approximately 90 km and tactical roads for up to about 70 km along the 155-mile (approximately 250 km) MDL.

Notably, in the first half of this year, approximately 5,000 troops, five times the number in the same period last year (about 1,000), have been concentrated in the front lines, engaging in a speed race. If this trend continues, the border line severance measures are expected to be completed within 2-3 years, more than a year earlier than the military authorities' initial estimate of four years.

The South Korean military and the United Nations Command (UNC) have shown slightly different reactions to North Korea's actions.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, "The North Korean military's installation of obstacles along the MDL is a clear violation of the Armistice Agreement," and added, "The South Korean military will continue to respond in close cooperation with the UNC." The South Korean military also reported that it maintains the capability to respond overwhelmingly to any North Korean provocation.

While the South Korean military condemned North Korea's actions that directly breach the demilitarized standard of the DMZ, the UNC, the custodian of the Armistice Agreement, stated its intention to carefully examine the issue, considering the possibility of "construction for defensive purposes."

Currently, the military authorities are closely monitoring the forward movements of the North Korean military and focusing on stable situation management, based on the cooperation framework with the ROK-US alliance and the UNC.

Ceasefire violation? Then what? Are you going to charge with a club?
Those who sentence to 30 years for sending drones in response to the North's dirty drones, what will you do if they push through the barbed wire at the DMZ?
Now that the world is normalizing, all the leftists who caused sedition, treason, and rebellion must be thoroughly investigated,
lined up in front of the executioner's block at Gwanghwamun intersection, and judged by the people.
