Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian [UPI Yonhap News file photo]
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has characterized recent situations, including armed clashes with the United States, as a "full-scale war," according to reports from local media including the state-run Press TV on the 20th (local time).
During his attendance at a high-level judicial meeting in Tehran that day, President Pezeshkian addressed the "hybrid war" being waged by enemies against the Islamic Republic, emphasizing, "The reality is that Iran is currently engaged in a full-scale war. Today's war is not fought with missiles alone."
He further stressed, "Our enemies have reached the conclusion that they cannot force the Iranian people to surrender through military strikes alone."
President Pezeshkian asserted, "We will fight to the end to defend our national interests, and there is not a shadow of a doubt in this path," adding, "In such a situation, what is most urgently needed is unity, solidarity, and cohesion."
He also expressed concern, stating, "Our enemies do not want an independent, powerful, and successful nation to emerge in this region," and added, "Managing external pressures and internal challenges simultaneously will by no means be easy."
