The 31 presidential office aides appointed by July 1st have an average wealth of 2.22 billion won.

This was the average asset amount for high-ranking officials in the Presidential Office, disclosed by the Government Public Service Ethics Committee on the 25th.

The disclosure対象 (subject) for this period includes high-ranking officials appointed between June 2nd and July 1st, with 31 individuals from the Presidential Office included. This accounts for approximately 56% of the total staff (55 people) from the assistant secretary level and above.

Among the high-ranking officials in the Presidential Office disclosed this time is Chief Administrative Officer Kim Hyun-ji, a close confidant of President Lee Jae-myung. Kim, who has garnered attention due to limited public information, reported assets of 1.183 billion won.

Specifically, Chief Administrative Officer Kim jointly owns an apartment in Daejang-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, The Sharp Pangyeforest Apartments (worth 750 million won) with his spouse. Kim reported purchasing the Daejang-dong apartment through a housing subscription.

Kim also registered an office in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, under his spouse's name (worth 310 million won) and an apartment in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungbuk, where his mother resides (worth 140 million won).

Kim's total debt amounted to 989 million won. Among this, the rental debt for the Daejang-dong apartment, jointly owned by him and his spouse, was 630 million won, and financial debt under his spouse's name was 230 million won.

Kim also reported that his spouse invested 40 million won with a 20% stake in the tax corporation 'Tax Top'.

The highest earner among the Presidential Office aides was Chief of Press Support Kim Sang-ho, with total assets of 6.078 billion won. Kim also had the highest assets among all public officials disclosed in this round.

Kim jointly owns six multi-family houses in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (total value of 4 billion won) and an apartment in Guui-dong, Gwangjin-gu, worth 3.5 billion won with his spouse.

Kim's cash assets were 52 million won. Virtual assets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, held by his spouse, eldest and second sons, and eldest daughter amounted to 163 million won.

He also registered a Kensington Hotel & Resorts condominium membership (10 million won) and a Midas Icheon Golf Club membership owned by his spouse (21 million won).

His total debt was 2.296 billion won, including 1.816 billion won in building rental debt for the six multi-family houses in Daechi-dong, declared under his name (922 million won) and his spouse's name (894 million won).

Following him were Senior Secretary for Social Affairs Moon Jin-young (5.531 billion won), Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Lee Tae-hyung (5.53 billion won), Chief Secretary for Foreign Press Choi Sung-ah (4.778 billion won), and Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Bong Wook (4.362 billion won), in descending order of wealth.

Senior Secretary Moon's building assets were approximately 4.8 billion won, including a mixed-use building in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu (102 million won), an apartment in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu (1.88 billion won), and a neighborhood living facility in Cheongpa-dong 2-ga (1.39 billion won). He held 823 million won in deposits and 194 million won in securities, and reported 1 million won in cash.

Secretary Lee jointly owns the Wuseong Apartment in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu (2.352 billion won) with his spouse and also reported the Garak-dong Helicity Apartment (2.29 billion won) under the joint names of his eldest and second sons. The eldest and second sons have leased the apartment for a deposit of 1.18 billion won.

Secretary Lee's eldest son holds 391 million won in deposits, and his second son holds 381 million won in deposits and 30 million won worth of stocks.

Policy Chief Kim Yong-bum reported assets of 4.224 billion won. This is a twofold increase compared to his assets (2.239 billion won) disclosed in March 2021 when he was the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance.

During this period, his deposit assets under his name increased by approximately 900 million won, from 107 million won to 1.049 billion won.

AI Senior Secretary Ha Jung-woo reported total assets of 2.86 billion won, including the Parktown Apartment in Sunae-dong, Bundang (worth 1.65 billion won) jointly owned with his spouse. He held 529 million won in deposits and 888 million won in securities, and stated that he, his spouse, eldest son, and mother each held 1,000 won in cash.

Protocol Secretary Kwon Hyuk-ki, with assets of 1.607 billion won, reported newly purchasing the Lotte Castle Classic Apartment in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu (2.65 billion won) under joint marital ownership.

Secretary Kwon also reported private loans of 200 million won under his name and financial debt of 1.271 billion won under his spouse's name for the housing purchase.

The aide with the least assets among the Presidential Office staff was Chief Secretary for Integrated Supervision Jeon Sung-hwan, who reported 292 million won. Kim Nam-jun, Chief Secretary of the Secretariat (413 million won), Kim Yong-chae, Personnel Secretary (520 million won), Jeon Chi-young, Public Integrity Secretary (731 million won), and Kim Hyun-jong, First Deputy Director of the National Security Office (751 million won), were also among the bottom five in terms of assets.

Meanwhile, President Lee Jae-myung, Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik, National Security Advisor Wi Sung-rak, and Spokesperson Kang Yoo-jung, who are former National Assembly members and whose asset information was already disclosed by the National Assembly Public Service Ethics Committee in March, were excluded from this disclosure.
