On the 28th, Lee Jin-sook, Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), responded to the National Assembly's passage of the Act on the Establishment of the Broadcasting, Media, and Communications Commission—which would effectively lead to her automatic dismissal—by stating, "Once the bill is deliberated and passed by the Cabinet, I will pursue all possible legal actions, including a constitutional appeal and an injunction."

Chairperson Lee held a press conference at the National Assembly that day and stated, "The bill was hastily passed by the National Assembly, and I will inform the public that it contains numerous unconstitutional elements."

She pointed out, "The Broadcasting, Media, and Communications Commission Act is a 'cheese' law and a targeted piece of legislation against me," adding, "It is riddled with loopholes, and there is no explanation as to why I, as a political appointee, should be effectively dismissed and removed from office."

She continued, "The Democratic Party passed this bill without sufficient consultation just to give a Chuseok holiday gift to their hardcore supporters, the 'Gae-ttal'," and argued, "The Lee Jae-myung administration will likely move quickly to reorganize the Commission and attempt to turn public broadcasters into outlets closely aligned with the National Union of Mediaworkers under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU)."

Furthermore, she stated, "Deliberations on broadcasting and communications must be objective and conducted in accordance with the law from the perspective of the people. I am deeply concerned that they may conduct deliberations for President Lee Jae-myung and for the KCTU instead."

The Act on the Establishment of the Broadcasting, Media, and Communications Commission, which passed the National Assembly the previous day under the leadership of the Democratic Party, includes provisions to abolish the current KCC and establish a new Broadcasting, Media, and Communications Commission.
