The People Power Party stated on the 11th, regarding the discovery of a public official, identified as A, from Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, dead after being summoned for questioning by Special Prosecutor Min Jung-ki's team investigating allegations related to First Lady Kim Keon-hee, that "Special Prosecutor Min Jung-ki must take responsibility and resign."

The party's special committee for defending judicial justice and preventing dictatorship, in a statement released on the same day, said, "All investigation records and interrogation transcripts from the special prosecutor must be fully disclosed. It must be revealed in detail who ordered the coercion, pressure, and threats," adding this statement.

The special committee stated, "Despite the deceased truthfully stating that they did not remember, the special prosecutor insisted it was a lie and did not stop the harsh investigation beyond midnight," and claimed, "The false statement coercion and persuasion practiced by the special prosecutor took the life of a public official."

It continued, "The special prosecutor is no longer qualified to investigate. They must be immediately disbanded and made to stop politically motivated retaliatory investigations," and urged, "An independent and transparent investigation into the deceased's interrogation process must be immediately conducted to thoroughly uncover the truth."

Park Sung-hoon, the chief spokesperson, also issued a commentary stating, "An ordinary public official was pursued for 'telling the truth' and, after being pressured, ultimately ended their life," and remarked, "If there were repeated pursuits and persuasions until the desired answer was obtained, it was not an investigation but 'torture'."

Regarding the special prosecutor's stance that "'there was no coercion or persuasion'," he criticized, "The explanation given after one person's life was extinguished is too cold and merely an irresponsible excuse."
