Iran broadcast a chilling video on state television on Wednesday, issuing a direct assassination threat against President Donald Trump.

The video, featuring footage of Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in 2024 followed by a shooting, warned: "This time, we will not miss the target."

The clip, aired on Iran's state television, represents the most explicit threat Tehran has made against Trump to date amid escalating tensions between Washington and the Iranian regime.

The threat comes after President Trump repeatedly warned that the U.S. would take action if Iran continued its violent crackdown on anti-government protesters.

On Wednesday, Trump told the Iranian people during a speech in Detroit to occupy government institutions and continue their protests, saying: "Help is on the way."

The Iranian assassination threat video is reportedly derived from a pro-regime rally and features a bloody image of Trump shortly after gunman Thomas Cruz's bullet pierced Trump's ear during an election rally in Butler.

The rally footage was aired despite the government's widespread internet shutdown to block reporting on the nationwide protests, according to Newsmax.

Iran has made threats against Trump before.

In 2022, it released a video simulating an assassination attempt at Trump's Mar-a-Lago golf club ahead of the 2024 election.

The video gained renewed attention after Ryan Routh was arrested for attempting to target Trump at the same golf course.

Routh had infiltrated the premises with a rifle, but the video released by Iran depicted a guided missile striking the golf course.

The U.S. Department of Justice also confirmed it foiled an assassination plot linked to Iran in 2024. According to court documents, Farhad Shakeri was arrested for allegedly attempting to assassinate Trump on behalf of the regime, acting on the orders of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps.

At a recent pro-regime rally, crowds were seen pledging loyalty to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and chanting "Death to America."

These rallies appeared to be a response to the widespread protests that have rocked Iran since late December. The protests were sparked by the country's collapsing economy and growing public anger toward the regime.

The protests have been met with a violent response. According to the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), over 2,500 people have been killed and more than 17,600 have been arrested or detained since the protests began.

As unrest grows within Iran, tensions with the United States have also escalated. President Trump has warned that military options remain on the table in response to the regime's violent crackdown on its own citizens.

In response, Iranian officials have threatened retaliation against U.S. forces in the region and Israel if Washington takes military action.
