The average assets per person were calculated to be approximately 2.8 billion won (excluding two individuals with extremely high declarations).


The National Assembly's Public Service Ethics Committee disclosed the '2026 Regular Asset Fluctuation Declarations of National Assembly Members' (as of the end of last year) on the 26th, containing these details.


The number of lawmakers whose assets were disclosed this time is 287, excluding those holding dual positions such as state ministers.


Among these, lawmakers Ahn Cheol-soo and Park Duk-heum declared over 50 billion won for the second consecutive year.


Excluding these two individuals, the average declared assets of the remaining lawmakers were 2.88 billion won.


This is an increase of approximately 220 million won compared to the average declaration amount of the previous year (2.65 billion won).


The average assets per lawmaker by political party were 2.14 billion won for the Democratic Party of Korea, 5.97 billion won for the People Power Party, 1.99 billion won for the Jo Guk Innovation Party, and 2.53 billion won for the Reform Party.


However, when excluding those who declared over 30 billion won, such as lawmakers Ahn Cheol-soo, Park Duk-heum, Ko Dong-jin, Baek Jong-heon (all People Power Party), and Park Jeong (Democratic Party), the average assets of lawmakers from the Democratic Party and the People Power Party decreased to 1.91 billion won and 3.73 billion won, respectively.

Lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo had the highest declared assets, as in the previous year. His total declared assets amounted to 125.71 billion won. However, the loss in the value of Ahn Lab stocks, which constitute the majority of Ahn's assets, was 11.34 billion won, a significant increase compared to the previous year (-3.345665 billion won).


Following him were People Power Party lawmaker Park Duk-heum (54.79 billion won) and Democratic Party lawmaker Park Jeong (37.45 billion won).


Several People Power Party lawmakers, including Ko Dong-jin (37.35 billion won), Baek Jong-heon (31.87 billion won), Kim Eun-hye (29.43 billion won), Seo Myung-ok (27.05 billion won), Yoon Sang-hyun (21.8 billion won), and Choi Eun-seok (11.11 billion won), were among the top positions in asset rankings.


Conversely, Democratic Party lawmaker Jung Jun-ho reported negative assets (-1.05 billion won) due to financial debt, ranking last.


Democratic Party lawmaker Jin Sun-mi also reported negative assets (-790 million won).


In terms of total declared asset value, the largest group was those with assets between 1 billion and 2 billion won, with 97 individuals (33.8%).


This was followed by 83 individuals (28.9%) with assets between 2 billion and 5 billion won, 47 individuals (16.4%) with assets between 500 million and 1 billion won, 36 individuals (12.5%) with assets of 5 billion won or more, and 24 individuals (8.4%) with assets under 500 million won.

88.5% of all lawmakers saw their assets increase compared to their previous declarations.


In terms of the amount of increase, the largest group was 158 individuals (62.2%) with an increase between 100 million and 500 million won.


This was followed by 33 individuals (13.0%) with an increase of less than 50 million won, 30 individuals (11.8%) with an increase between 50 million and 100 million won, 20 individuals (7.9%) with an increase between 500 million and 1 billion won, and 13 individuals (5.1%) with an increase of 1 billion won or more.


People Power Party lawmaker Ko Dong-jin had the largest increase in assets, growing by 5.68 billion won.


Following him, People Power Party lawmakers Yoon Sang-hyun (4.07 billion won), Park Chung-kwon (3.32 billion won), Kim Eun-hye (2.04 billion won), Lee Heon-seung (1.95 billion won), Na Kyung-won (1.94 billion won), and Seo Myung-ok (1.54 billion won) were included in the top asset increase rankings.


Additionally, lawmakers Park Jeong (Democratic Party, 1.42 billion won), Park Duk-heum (People Power Party, 1.29 billion won), Choo Mi-ae (Democratic Party, 1.13 billion won), Lee Hae-min (Innovation Party, 1.05 billion won), and Kim Han-gyu (Democratic Party, 1.03 billion won) also saw significant asset increases.


Only 33 lawmakers (11.5%) saw their assets decrease compared to their previous declarations.


Lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo, who ranked first in declared assets among all lawmakers, also had the largest decrease, with assets reduced by 11.07 billion won.


12 individuals (36.4%) saw a decrease of less than 50 million won, 5 individuals (15.1%) decreased by 50 million to 100 million won, 6 individuals (18.2%) decreased by 100 million to 500 million won, 5 individuals (15.1%) decreased by 500 million to 1 billion won, and 5 individuals (15.1%) decreased by 1 billion won or more.
