People's Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk criticized the Democratic Party's push for a special prosecutor, following the conclusion of the "Special Investigation into Allegations of Fabricated Indictments by the Yoon Suk-yeol Administration's Political Prosecutors" on the 30th, stating, "They are creating an unreasonable special prosecutor's office and even granting it the power to withdraw indictments."

In a Facebook post on the same day, Jang said, "This is essentially allowing 'President Lee Jae-myung' to appoint a special prosecutor to handle the withdrawal of indictments against 'Defendant Lee Jae-myung.'"

He continued, "The parliamentary investigation clearly confirmed that the president's North Korean remittance dealings and the salmon/alcohol party allegations were baseless. It was a hearing that provided more than enough reasons to resume President Lee's trial," emphasizing, "By electing a criminal president, the entire judicial system of the Republic of Korea is collapsing."

Jang stated, "These are people who fear only Lee Jae-myung, not the public. The released Yoo Dong-gyu said, 'Lee Jae-myung also knew.' Power does not last ten years; the day will come when all those involved in withdrawing Lee Jae-myung's indictment go to jail," he criticized.

Members of the People's Power Party's special investigation committee, including lawmakers Na Kyung-won, Gwak Gyu-taek, Song Seok-jun, and Kim Hyung-dong, also held a press conference at the National Assembly today, strongly condemning the push for a special prosecutor in protest of the ruling party's adoption of the parliamentary investigation's results report.

Rep. Na pointed out, "'Answer is already decided, you just need to answer' (a 'foregone conclusion' special prosecutor) is pushing all formats and procedures towards the withdrawal of indictments. However, a prosecutor from the prosecutor's office cannot withdraw an indictment that has been filed and maintained by a special prosecutor."

She added, "The use of state power for one person is also state violence. Seeing President Lee, I think, 'This is a tyrant.'"

The members of the special investigation committee announced that they would report Nam Wook, a private developer involved in the Daejang-dong case who changed his past testimony during the parliamentary investigation, Lee Hwa-young, former Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province who raised the 'salmon and alcohol party allegations,' and KH Group Vice Chairman Cho Kyung-sik, who denied the Ssangbangul North Korean remittance allegations, for perjury under the National Assembly Testimony and Inspection Act.

Earlier, People's Power Party Floor Leader Song Eon-seok also criticized the Democratic Party's push for a special prosecutor at a supreme council meeting held at the National Assembly this morning, stating, "They are giving the special prosecutor appointed by President Lee the authority to self-pardon by withdrawing indictments."

He emphasized, "The beginning was unconstitutional and illegal, the process was ambition and violence, but the result was a revelation of truth that proved to the world that Lee Jae-myung is guilty."
