Former President Park Geun-hye greets citizens at Suseong Lake in Daegu on the afternoon of the 31st, in support of People Power Party Daegu mayoral candidate Choo Kyung-ho. [Yonhap News]
People Power Party lawmaker Yoo Young-ha claimed that, regarding former President Park Geun-hye, "the shackles falsely imposed through lies and slander, like those of King Danjong who was restored to his position from Nosan-gun, will surely be removed and she will be restored to her rightful place."
Yoo, a close confidant of former President Park, stated this on Facebook on the 1st, saying, "Truth cannot be contained or hidden."
Yoo also said, "This is my last calling, so I will go slowly and not rush. Even if it is slow, I must go until the end without giving up."
He added, "One thing is clear: you will certainly pay the price for the character assassination you committed while performing a cruel dance of mockery and ruthless execution," and "that day is not far off."
He made these remarks in a post mentioning his visit to Daegu's Seomun Market and Suseong Lake the previous day with former President Park to support People Power Party Daegu mayoral candidate Choo Kyung-ho.

Yoo said, "I can't think of any other word to describe it than a sea of people," adding, "More important than the large crowd was the love and longing for the President shown by those who came. You could tell from their facial expressions and gestures, even without words."
He also added, "She mentioned she felt pain because people were holding her hands and even pulling her shoulders. As soon as we arrived at her residence, she received emergency treatment, and all I could say was that she should rest from tomorrow."
Recently, former President Park has been visiting regions sequentially, starting with Daegu, then the Chungcheong and Yeongnam regions, and Gangwon, effectively campaigning in support of People Power Party candidates.
This marks her first political activity in nine years since her impeachment due to the state corruption scandal in 2017.
There are interpretations both within and outside the political sphere that former President Park, who had limited public activities since her impeachment, is now resuming political activities ahead of the local elections.
