Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Freedom and Innovation Party, raised suspicions regarding the election commission's recent announcement about a controversy involving a secretive room at the Seoul Olympic Park Handball Stadium, stating, "It's difficult for anyone to accept this logically," and urged an immediate nationwide live recount of votes.

In his opening remarks at the party's supreme council meeting on the 22nd, Leader Hwang stated, "The election commission announced that only one facility management employee belonging to Korea Sports Industry Development under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stayed at the stadium for over fifteen days, but no citizen will believe this as is," expressing strong doubt. He pointed out, "There must have been multiple people coming and going from the stadium for over fifteen days. I strongly suspect that they have already prepared all the ballots in the ballot boxes and are only now bringing this up."

He specifically targeted the election commission's explanation regarding the detection of an intruder and the welding and sealing process. Leader Hwang countered, "They claim that facility employees drove out external intruders who damaged the underground passageway door and then welded the door shut. Is it just a coincidence that the one person left behind was a welder?" He criticized, "Officials from Korea Sports Industry Development are evading questions by saying they 'don't know' facts that could be known with a single phone call, and it makes no sense that even the police were completely unaware of this until the media reported it."

He added, "No matter how much they try to hide and manipulate the ballots, it cannot be perfect, and everything will eventually be revealed. Since it is impossible to perfectly manipulate all the ballots, if there is a recount, evidence of fraudulent elections will certainly be found," proposing an immediate live recount as the simplest and most transparent solution.

As a specific method, he stated, "We must recount every single ballot from all 380 ballot boxes live nationwide, with the presence of each party, citizens, and youth," and added, "By comparing the recount results with the election commission's announcement, we will be able to determine if there was a fraudulent election or not."

He expressed skepticism about a parliamentary-level verification. He pointed out, "Even if a parliamentary inquiry and special prosecutor are conducted in the future, there is a very high probability that the essence will be blurred by partisan political attacks and disputes as time goes by."

Leader Hwang also directly refuted Lee Jae-myung's proposals for a one-point constitutional amendment and the introduction of electronic voting. He stated, "I am suspicious of the intentions behind bringing up a constitutional amendment in this situation. South Korea's elections must be conducted by paper ballot, on the day of the election, with manual counting at polling stations, which is the most transparent method, and early voting must be abolished," citing the election methods advocated by Taiwan and Freedom and Innovation as examples.

Finally, Leader Hwang declared, "Freedom and Innovation will fight until the end, regardless of any pressure or oppression, to protect the citizens' right to vote and for the liberal democracy and fair elections of the Republic of Korea, and will stand with the people."
