As the so-called "Jamsil Democratization Struggle" enters its 21st day, a large-scale rally is being planned in Washington, D.C., drawing attention as it unites in support of the South Korean youth's movement to uncover election fraud.
Conservative Korean-American organizations, including the Preparatory Committee for the Korean-American United National Rally, AKUS (Association of Korean-American United Societies), and the Syngman Rhee Foundation, will hold the "Korean-American United National Rally" on Saturday, the 27th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Area 9 zone behind the U.S. Capitol (in front of the Supreme Court).
The rally, subtitled "Condemning the South Korean National Election Commission and Protecting Voting Rights," is organized by KAI, a group for Korean-American youth, which is extending an invitation to "all Koreans and Americans who love the Republic of Korea."
The organizers stated, "Korean youth have awakened since June 3rd. Now, there is hope," adding, "The 2 million Korean expatriates in the U.S. must no longer remain silent; we must wake up and rise. Please join us for this critical gathering! If you take action and come together, we can move American politicians and President Trump!"
Pastor Lee Joong-in remarked, "Looking back at history, there have always been people who stayed awake and prayed during moments of national crisis," adding, "If we remain silent today, our children might ask us tomorrow why we did nothing back then."
Pastor Lee emphasized that this event is "not about a specific political party, politician, or a matter of left versus right," and that "it is not a gathering for any individual or organization. It is a place where anyone who cares about the future of the Republic of Korea should join. Staying silent when witnessing evil is not neutrality; it is negligence."
The organizers have requested that participants "bring Taegeukgi (Korean flags), Stars and Stripes (U.S. flags), handheld signs (freely prepared on paper), mats, and cushions."
For the convenience of participants, the organizers will provide large shuttle buses in the Virginia and Maryland regions:
▲ Virginia: Annandale K-Mart parking lot, 9:00 a.m.
▲ Maryland: In front of Shinchon Restaurant, Ellicott City, 8:30 a.m.
Furthermore, the organizers announced that they will provide free room and board for three days to young people traveling from states outside of the Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. area to attend.

Looking at the arguments of US political commentator Gene Cummings, occasionally reported in the Hankook Ilbo, it is suggested that President Trump is shaking up China on a grand scale, with the trickle-down effect impacting Korea. We have an extreme proverb in our folklore that says one can starve to death waiting for banquet food. American intervention through China is too abstract and takes too long to be effective. Why can't they intervene in Venezuela to arrest Maduro? It is a guess, but perhaps Trump is using a circumvention, a "China-style intervention," due to his lingering interest in the 300 billion dollars in investment promised by Lee Jae-myung. I suspect, out of an abundance of caution, that President Trump, being a shrewd businessman, may be deliberately observing the situation, ignoring the pleas of the Korean people, due to this reason.
