Marking the 76th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War, Dr. Tara O, a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and an expert on North Korea and security issues, visited Jamsil Olympic Park, the center of a movement to restore electoral integrity, to express her condolences and solidarity.

On the 25th, Dr. Tara O shared her thoughts on the visit via her X (formerly Twitter) account, posting a memorial message: "On the anniversary of the Korean War, I offer a moment of silence for those who gave everything."

She filmed and posted a video in front of Gates 1-3 of the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium to mourn the noble sacrifices of the martyrs who fought against communism. Previously, she had also posted photos on her X account of her visit to the Seoul National Cemetery.

Dr. O highly regarded the significance of the movement to restore electoral integrity, which has been continuing at Olympic Park for 21 days. She emphasized, "Rain or shine, people are gathering at Olympic Park to demand free and fair elections, where trustworthy results are produced through transparent procedures."

Dr. O then visited Gate 2-1, where a patriotic woman, dubbed "Ol-darc" (a portmanteau of Olympic Park and Joan of Arc), had single-handedly blocked the forced removal of ballot boxes. There, she encouraged young people wearing helmets and holding shield-shaped placards calling for a joint U.S.-ROK international investigation into A-WEB (the Association of World Election Bodies), and took commemorative photos with them.

Her security perspectives, recently revealed in an interview with Lee Young-don TV, are also gaining renewed attention. In the interview, Dr. O warned, "Those who say there are no spies in this day and age are either very naive or brainwashed," adding, "There are still plenty of spies."

She criticized the current state of affairs, stating, "Every country should have, and does have, the capability to catch spies. Yet, South Korea is the only one systematically dismantling that function. It's not that there are no spies, but that they have no intention of catching them."

Dr. Tara O is a prominent North Korea expert who has researched North Korean nuclear issues and human rights issues while serving as a fellow at the Hudson Institute, the East Asia Research Center (EARC), and the Institute for Corean-American Studies (ICAS) after retiring as a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. Since witnessing the impeachment process of President Park Geun-hye in 2016, she has focused more on the crisis of the South Korean system than on North Korea itself. She remains active, including attending a meeting of a right-leaning private fact-finding commission on the May 18th Uprising during her visit to Korea in September 2023. She currently serves as an academic board member for the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC), a U.S.-based anti-communist non-profit organization.

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 under U.S. law, with a motto rooted in anti-communism. It was established following a Congressional resolution that estimated over 100 million lives lost to the "holocaust" of communist imperialism, declaring the intent to "forever remember and mourn the tragic sacrifices of the deceased, and to never allow evil tyranny to recur on this earth and terrorize the world again." The monument was dedicated on June 12, 2007, marking the 20th anniversary of Republican President Ronald Reagan's speech in Germany where he famously said, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" It also features a replica of the Goddess of Democracy, which was destroyed by the Chinese Communist Party during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing.

VOC President Eric Patterson has offered a scathing analysis of the reality facing a generation of young Americans brainwashed by the left. Patterson noted that "schools and universities are 'epicenters of indoctrination,'" lamenting that "privileged Millennials and Gen Z, who have never known poverty, starvation, or oppression, have fallen for Marxism due to revisionist education and misplaced guilt." Specifically, he analyzed that this is the result of "poor and ideologically re-engineered historical education, and the constant indoctrination by parents and others who claim that the young generation has stolen blessings from the marginalized, leading to a distorted sense of guilt."
