The Korean American Association of Greater Atlanta (President Eugene Chul Yoo) has become the first in the Americas to publicly define and condemn the recent 6.3 local elections in South Korea as fraudulent.

The Association read a statement, originally released via newspapers on the 22nd, during a luncheon held for Korean War and Vietnam War veterans at the Atlanta Korean Community Center on Thursday, the 25th, at 11:00 AM.

The statement, initially issued by the Association for the Globalization of President Park Chung-hee (Chairman Lee Hong-ki), is titled "Emergency Statement Urging the Investigation of the 6.3 Election Fraud and the Lifting of the Exit Ban on Ambassador Mostan."

The contents of the statement are as follows: "We strongly urge and condemn the lifting of the exit ban imposed on the National Election Commission—the root cause of the appalling election fraud, including ballot shortages and manipulated twin-data statistics in early voting—and on Ambassador Mostan, who entered the country as an international election monitor."

Over 200 Korean Americans in attendance at the event joined in chanting, "We condemn it!"

Meanwhile, a ceremony commemorating the 76th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War was held in grand fashion at the Atlanta Korean Community Center on Thursday, the 25th, at 11:00 AM.

The first part of the ceremony was held in the form of a worship service, moderated by Pastor Park Kwan-young, Vice President of the Christian Soldiers Association, and included a prayer by Pastor Yoo Enoch, Vice President of the Council of Churches, a special performance by Pastor Barbara Han, and a sermon by Pastor Ahn Chang-hoon, President of the Christian Soldiers Association.

Based on 1 Samuel 7:12, Pastor Ahn delivered a sermon titled, "The God Who Has Helped Us Thus Far."

Recalling the miracle where the path of a typhoon changed following the prayers of President Syngman Rhee and other leaders in Busan, the wartime provisional capital, Pastor Ahn emphasized, "When the Republic of Korea is in crisis, relying on God brings His saving hand. History is made when we pray."

The first part of the service concluded with a benediction by Pastor Shin Dong-wook, President of the Association of Senior Pastors.

The second part, moderated by Pastors Yoon Do-gi and Seo Seung-won, the Association’s vice chairmen, featured a reception for Korean War and Vietnam War veterans.

During the event, Board Chairman Kim Il-hong invited Pastor Samuel Paik to the podium to read the "Emergency Statement Urging the Investigation of the 6.3 Election Fraud and the Lifting of the Exit Ban on Ambassador Mostan," recently issued by the Association for the Globalization of President Park Chung-hee.

The attendees joined in a chorus, strongly calling for the lifting of the exit ban on Ambassador Mostan and condemning the election fraud.

During the national ceremony, the Ladies' Choir (conducted by Hong Ae-hee) sang the South Korean and U.S. national anthems, and merit awards presented by the President of the Korea Headquarters of the Retired Christian Soldiers Association were given to Pastor Sim Man-soo and Elder Kim Dae-cheon, both Korean War veterans residing in Georgia.

Association President Eugene Chul Yoo expressed concern over the current crisis in South Korea and reiterated the importance of the U.S. support that helped build the nation as it stands today.

The event was also attended by dozens of mainstream figures, including Tommy Hertel, Chairman of the Georgia Republican Assembly (GRA); Richard Jordan, Chairman of the Georgia 7th Congressional District GOP and Heritage-Atlanta Representative; John Salvesen, Republican candidate for the U.S. House in Georgia’s 5th District; and State Representative Matt Reeves (R-District 99), all of whom spoke about the ROK-U.S. alliance and the legacy of the Korean War.

In a particularly moving moment, candidate John Salvesen displayed his father’s Purple Heart, explaining that his father had been wounded while fighting in the Korean War.

The event continued with congratulatory remarks from Joo Jung-kwang, Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia, and Moon Moo-il, Secretary-General of the Ihwajang (Syngman Rhee Memorial) in South Korea.

The 250 attendees concluded the event by singing the Korean War song and performing a three-time "Manse" (long live) cheer led by Pastor Sim Man-soo and Elder Kim Dae-cheon.

The Korean American Association added to the celebratory atmosphere by providing lunch and gift certificates for Zion Mart to all attendees.
