A former House Intelligence Committee staffer who served with Democrats for over a decade has repeatedly claimed that in 2017, U.S. Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) authorized the leak of classified information to "indict President Trump."

This information is detailed in FBI 302 interview reports exclusively obtained by Just the News.

According to the documents, the staffer claimed that Schiff, as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, announced the leak of information that "defamed United States President Donald J. Trump" during a full staff meeting.

He reportedly considered the classified leak "unethical" and "illegal" and "treasonous" but was told not to worry because Schiff believed he would be protected from prosecution under the First Amendment's speech and press clauses.

When the accuser expressed concerns about the legality of the proposed leak, the staffer was reassured by members present at the meeting that he would "not be held accountable," according to the memo.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night that the documents had been "found and declassified," adding, "Congress can now see the process of how classified information was leaked to shape political discourse and determine if our agencies were weaponized against the American people."

According to Just the News, the staffer claimed Schiff was "particularly upset" about the 2016 election results because he believed Hillary Clinton would have been appointed "as the director of the CIA" had she won.

According to Just the News, the staffer claimed in August 2017 to the FBI that "Schiff thought Russia had hijacked the election and America was in a constitutional crisis."

According to the FBI memo, members of the House Intelligence Committee reportedly asked for the identities of anonymous individuals mentioned in documents pertaining to Trump to be revealed to "deal with them."

In an interview with Just the News, FBI Director Kash Patel stated, "For years, certain public servants have weaponized classified information to shape political discourse for their own benefit. All of these actions were done for one purpose: to weaponize intelligence and law enforcement agencies for political gain."

"The public trust in our agencies has been eroded by these abuses of power," Patel said. "Now, the FBI will lead the charge with the Department of Justice to investigate this, and Congress will have an opportunity to expose how political power has been weaponized and to restore accountability."

A spokesperson for Representative Schiff's office issued a statement to The Daily Caller, countering, "Kash Patel's latest smear against Senator Schiff is completely false and is just the latest in a series of defamatory attacks against the President and his allies, launched to distract from falling poll numbers and Epstein scandal-related events."

"These baseless slanders are based on the claims of a disgruntled former employee who was fired from the House Intelligence Committee in early 2017, whose claims are unreliable and unsubstantiated," the statement continued. "The grounds for his dismissal included harassment during official committee travel and conduct that potentially fostered corruption."

It added, "Even the Trump DOJ and an independent Inspector General found this employee's credibility to be low, with 'little to corroborate his claims' and 'questionable reliability,' concluding that his accusations against members and congressional staff were 'ultimately unproven.'"

President Joe Biden pardoned Schiff on his last day in office in January of this year, but only mentioned Schiff's role on the select committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riot, Just the News reported.
