Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a reply to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who had sent a congratulatory message for the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, expressing his commitment to developing long-term and stable cooperation between the two countries.

The Korean Central News Agency reported the full text on the 5th, stating that President Xi sent the reply to Chairman Kim on the 1st.

President Xi expressed his gratitude for Chairman Kim’s congratulatory message and defined the Workers' Party of Korea and the Communist Party of China as "both being Marxist ruling parties."

President Xi noted that "for a long time, the two parties of China and North Korea have united and led their respective peoples, sharing joys and sorrows, relying on each other, and standing together through life and death during the arduous days of achieving national independence and liberation, while steadily striving forward along the broad path of socialist construction."

He further stated, "Together, we have joined hands to propel the continuous development of the causes of our two parties and two countries, and to inject strong momentum into the China-North Korea friendship that is passed down through generations."

President Xi stated that his visit to North Korea on the 8th and 9th of last month was a success, and expressed his determination to implement the agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries.

He emphasized, "By guiding China-North Korea relations to develop in a long-term, sound, and stable manner, we will promote the stable and long-term development of the socialist causes of both countries," adding, "We are willing to actively contribute to peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and beyond."

Previously, Chairman Kim had sent a congratulatory message to President Xi on the 1st to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, reaffirming his will to develop friendly relations between the two countries.

Chairman Kim had also sent congratulatory messages to President Xi for the 95th (2016) and 100th (2021) anniversaries of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

In socialist countries like North Korea and China, "jeongjunyeon" (anniversaries ending in 5 or 0) are considered particularly important, often involving larger commemorative events and the exchange of high-level congratulatory messages.
