The People Power Party's Central Ethics Committee will hold a plenary meeting at the party's headquarters in Yeouido on the 6th to deliberate on disciplinary actions requested by party members and others around the time of the June 3 local elections.

As this is the first meeting to be held since the June 3 local elections, it is expected that discussions will focus on identifying those subject to disciplinary measures.

Within the party, the individuals mentioned as potential targets for disciplinary action include pro-Han (pro-Han Dong-hoon) faction lawmakers who accompanied independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon during his Daegu schedule last March ahead of the local elections, such as Kim Ye-ji, Ahn Sang-hoon, Jin Jong-oh, Jung Sung-kook, Bae Hyun-jin, Woo Jae-jun, and Park Jung-hoon.

Also under consideration for potential disciplinary action are members of the reform-oriented group "Alternative and Future," who publicly called for the resignation of party leader Jang Dong-hyeok, and Representative Kim Jae-seop, who served as a co-chairman of the Seoul mayoral campaign committee for Oh Se-hoon.

It is reported that the Ethics Committee has received requests for disciplinary action against dozens of individuals, including incumbent lawmakers.

In particular, it is known that hundreds of disciplinary requests targeting the pro-Han faction have been submitted.

The Ethics Committee is empowered to issue disciplinary actions including ▲ expulsion, ▲ recommendation to withdraw from the party, ▲ suspension of party membership, and ▲ warnings.
