Former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who received medical treatment twice at an external hospital due to the risk of blindness, was confirmed to have been wearing handcuffs and an electronic ankle monitor during his medical examinations, Chosun Ilbo reported on the 14th. 

According to the newspaper, the correctional authorities stated that these measures were taken "to prevent preferential treatment disputes in advance."

The newspaper reported that former President Yoon received these measures on the 13th and 14th while receiving ophthalmological treatment at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital in Anyang City, Gyeonggi Province. 

Correctional authorities explained that such measures are taken when a detained suspect temporarily leaves the detention center for reasons such as medical treatment.
