According to the report, the power grid was restored at approximately 1:10 a.m. on the 8th, with electricity supplied to all regions across the country. However, Cuban authorities explained that further power outages could occur due to fuel shortages.

Félix Estrada, a director at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, stated on state television that power outages would continue nationwide due to a lack of power generation.

Cuba has been experiencing widespread power outages due to aging infrastructure and fuel shortages, and the situation has worsened since January, when the U.S. government tightened its embargo. This year alone, the national power grid has been paralyzed by major blackouts three times.

Amidst this, protests have also continued. Reuters reported that sporadic protests took place across Havana on the night of the 7th.

Residents banged pots and pans and honked car horns, shouting "Turn on the lights." Reuters reported that while Cuban authorities announced that most of the power grid had been reconnected that night, many residents were, in reality, still living in the dark without electricity due to fuel shortages.
