I am well aware that by writing this, I will disappoint the hopeful, expectant conservative right wing and face a barrage of verbal abuse.

The issue concerns Michelle Steel, who is taking office as the new US Ambassador to South Korea. She is a Korean-American, a lover of her motherland, the Republic of Korea, and a staunch conservative who supports liberal democracy more than anyone else.

I, too, warmly welcome Ambassador Steel and am grateful to the Trump administration for appointing her. I have high expectations. Many patriotic conservatives likely share my sentiments.

However, the reason I am writing this is that many of them, while doing nothing themselves for fear of the Lee Jae-myung regime, are harboring excessive expectations that Ambassador Steel will single-handedly set the Republic of Korea straight.

Of course, it is true that low-quality YouTubers, driven by greed, are fueling such narratives, and foolish people are falling for this "hope torture" without realizing it, putting far too much faith in such channels.

First, keep in mind that the owner of the Republic of Korea is not the American people, but the Korean people themselves. It is the conservative right wing that foolishly allowed the conservative presidency and administration to be usurped by the left, not once, but twice.

Why, then, do Korean conservatives expect Americans to fight on their behalf instead of fighting with their own strength to address issues like election fraud and reclaim the government?

While Koreans would be quick to take offense if told they were "second-class citizens" inferior to the people of Nepal, Iran, or Venezuela, they show no shame even after losing their government to the North, China, and the domestic left.

Honestly, just look at how many "conscienceless" citizens and conservatives spend their time drinking with friends and wasting their days, having never once set foot in Gwanghwamun or Olympic Park.

Second, keep in mind that the Republic of Korea is not a US colony. The incoming US ambassador is not coming as a Governor-General to rule a colony; she is simply a diplomatic representative of the US government.

Furthermore, Ambassador Steel is neither an intelligence officer nor a US military commander. No matter how powerful a representative of the US she may be, she has no mandate to lecture or control the Lee Jae-myung administration.

Third, the Republic of Korea is a country already occupied by leftists who hate the US and despise the ROK-US alliance. The current government and the leftists actually fear and defer to North Korea and China more than the United States.

Look at the brutal attack on US Ambassador Mark Lippert by a leftist figure 11 years ago, on March 5, 2015.

And look at the current case of Julie Turner, the US Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues (referred to as the Ambassador for International Criminal Justice here), who has been under investigation by Korean police and had her exit from the country restricted for months. 

The US government is well aware of the current reality where avowed anti-Americanists serve as Prime Minister, ruling party leaders, and Unification Ministers.

The conclusion is that Koreans must fight for their own sovereignty, just like the people of Nepal, Iran, or Venezuela.

Yet, Koreans currently only wish for President Trump or Ambassador Steel to fight for them for free. Do not take the blood and lives sacrificed by hundreds of thousands of Americans during the Korean War as something to be taken for granted.

If the Korean people are too afraid to go out and fight, then write letters asking for help and send thousands of them to Ambassador Steel and President Trump every single day. 

Individuals should write, groups should write, and both adults and children should write asking for help. This is the greatest form of patriotism. Start a mass petition movement as well.

Leftists show their loyalty to the leaders of enemy nations by writing oaths of allegiance, joining the Workers' Party, and offering money.  

However, conservatives, despite having lost their government, should not just sit there, obsessing over empty pride while waiting for help for free.

You must empower Ambassador Steel and provide the US government with the justification to help Korea. Those who seek shall find.
