The prosecution, investigating allegations of evidence tampering by police surrounding the 'Jang Yoon-gi case,' has conducted an additional search and seizure at the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station and booked the station chief and the head of the detective division on criminal charges.
On the 10th, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office dispatched investigators to the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station, which handled the case of Jang Yoon-gi, the murderer of a high school girl, to conduct a search and seizure.
This is the second compulsory investigation in three days, following the search and seizure conducted mainly on the investigative departments on the 7th.
It is reported that the prosecution has booked the Gwangsan Police Station Chief, identified as A, who is currently suspended from duty, on charges of aiding and abetting the destruction of evidence, and seized computers and other items from his office.
It is also known that B, the head of the detective division at the same police station, has been booked on the same charges and is currently under investigation.
Prior to this, on the 8th, C, an investigative team leader at the same station, was arrested on charges of destroying 'cable ties' that could have been used as restraints during the investigation into Jang Yoon-gi.
The prosecution continues its investigation to uncover the truth by summoning other police officers from the Gwangsan Police Station as witnesses.
