Amid the armed conflict between the United States and Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and head of Iran's ceasefire negotiation team, has declared a firm stance that Iran will never surrender to the U.S.
According to reports from Iran's state-run IRIB broadcaster and others on the 10th (local time), Speaker Ghalibaf met with Ahmad Muzani, Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia, who is currently visiting the country, to discuss the current situation, including the war with the U.S. and Israel.
Speaker Ghalibaf claimed, "At the beginning of the war, the United States, Israel, and NATO were under the illusion that they could force Iran to surrender in just a few days," adding, "Instead, the all-encompassing pressure applied to them has weakened them, which is the fundamental reason why the U.S. is now seeking a ceasefire."
He further added, "We have never lowered our guard in defending our homeland, in preparation for the possibility that the U.S. might break any agreement," stating, "If the U.S. provokes us again, we will exercise our legitimate right to reclaim our position through a full-scale defensive war. They have already experienced firsthand the depth of Iran's military power and readiness."
Speaker Ghalibaf continued by emphasizing, "While it is clear that ending the war is the top priority, this conflict will never end with Iran's surrender," and added, "Islamic nations must stand in solidarity against the U.S. and Israel, and Iran's experience proves that it is possible to succeed even on this difficult path."
