 On the 12th (local time), Iran launched large-scale airstrikes targeting U.S. military bases across the Middle East.

As the U.S. resumed airstrikes against key military facilities in southern Iran, Tehran retaliated in kind, further intensifying the ongoing conflict between the two sides surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.

On this day, Iran carried out indiscriminate attacks targeting neighboring countries, including Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman.

Iranian state media reported, "In response to the continued U.S. attacks on southern Iran, the regular Iranian army, alongside the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), launched airstrikes on U.S. military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain."

It further added, "The Iranian military warned that any additional U.S. actions would trigger even harsher retaliation."

In this regard, the IRGC claimed to have destroyed U.S. military command and control centers and hangars for MQ-9 drones at Jordan's Prince Hassan Air Base using ballistic missiles.

Furthermore, the IRGC announced that it had struck a Patriot air defense battery, an ammunition depot, and radar facilities at a U.S. base in Kuwait with drones, and that communication and radar facilities at the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain were also targeted in drone strikes.

The Iranian military also fired multiple ballistic missiles at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, targeting aircraft maintenance facilities and command and control rooms within the base.

Iran's state-run Press TV reported that "the Revolutionary Guard also launched a powerful strike on U.S. aircraft carrier refueling and logistics supply facilities at the Port of Duqm in Oman."

Reports of actual damage have emerged from the respective countries.

Jordanian state news agency reported that three Iranian missiles landed on its territory, causing minor damage, though there were no casualties.

In Bahrain, air raid sirens were sounded, and the Kuwaiti military confirmed it was responding to hostile aerial targets within its airspace.

The Qatari military stated in a release that it had intercepted missiles aimed at its territory. The Qatari government announced that three civilians, including a child, were injured by falling debris resulting from the interception.

According to Oman's state news agency, drone strikes were also detected in the northeastern part of Oman, which is adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz.

This attack on Omani soil occurred just one day after Iranian and Omani foreign ministers held talks to discuss passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Additionally, foreign media outlets, including AP and Reuters, reported that explosions were heard in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which had recently been spared from Iranian target lists.

The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that it had activated its air defense network to counter missile threats.

While the UAE initially distanced itself by noting that the attack took place outside its borders, it officially confirmed the military-level response.

It is observed that the Iranian military has indeed expanded both the scope and the targets of its attacks.

Since signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on ending hostilities with the U.S. last month, Iran had largely restricted its range of attacks, generally limiting its targets to U.S. bases in Kuwait and Bahrain during local clashes.

However, entering this month, Iran resumed attacks on U.S. bases in Qatar, and with explosions reported in the UAE today, regional tensions are once again escalating.

Brigadier General Akrami Nia, a spokesperson for the Iranian military, asserted, "The U.S. must adhere to the terms of the memorandum of understanding on ending hostilities," adding that "U.S. interference aimed at solidifying a system for illegal passage through the Strait of Hormuz undermines security."

He further emphasized, "The Iranian military will firmly defend the sovereignty of the Iranian people over the Strait of Hormuz, and our list of targets continues to be updated."

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament and head of Iran’s negotiating team with the U.S., warned via X: "The era of one-sided negotiations is over. We have already said this. Keep your promises, or you will pay the price. It is time to face reality."

Previously, the IRGC announced it would fully blockade the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that vessels passing through were attempting to use illegal routes.

Additionally, they stated that they had fired warning shots at a vessel that deviated into an unauthorized path.

U.S. Central Command, which oversees operations in the Middle East, stated that the IRGC attacked the 'M/V GFS Galaxy,' a Cypriot-flagged container ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Central Command reported that the ship sustained significant damage in the Iranian attack and that one civilian crew member is currently missing.

In relation to this, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced that one Indian national is missing following the attack on the merchant ship Galaxy.

The IRGC announced that even after exchanging airstrikes with the U.S. military on the same day, they had struck another vessel passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The Revolutionary Guard stated on state broadcaster IRIB, "A second vessel suspected of violating regulations within the Strait of Hormuz has been hit."
