Princess Anne will be accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, and will carry out a schedule that highlights the modern cooperative relationship between the two nations.
The Embassy stated, "This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Battles of the Imjin River and Kapyong, major engagements of the Korean War in which British forces participated," adding that "this visit takes place in a year of special significance in the shared history of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea."
Accordingly, Princess Anne plans to attend a memorial ceremony at the UN Memorial Cemetery in Busan to honor the sacrifices of British and Commonwealth veterans and meet with Korean War veterans.
Princess Anne will also visit Busan and Ulsan to observe firsthand examples of Korea-UK cooperation in the maritime, shipbuilding, and defense industries.
As President of Save the Children UK, the Princess will visit Save the Children Korea to meet with young people. As the President of the UK Fashion and Textile Association, she will also view an exhibition of works by Korean alumni of the University of the Arts London at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
Princess Anne will attend a Korea-UK reception hosted by the Embassy and meet with the girl group NMIXX, who serve as ambassadors for the Embassy's women's empowerment campaign.
The Embassy also announced that Princess Anne is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on President Lee Jae-myung for a private meeting. [Yonhap News]
