The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 16th that nearly 150,000 citizens have visited the Han River swimming pools and water parks in the approximately one month since their opening this summer.
According to the city, a total of 149,988 people visited over the 26 days from the opening on June 19—which included the Ttukseom and Yeouido swimming pools, as well as the Jamsil, Gwangnaru, Nanji, and Yanghwa water parks (all with a maximum depth of under 1 meter)—up until the 14th of this month.
The most visited location was the Ttukseom swimming pool with 50,819 visitors, followed by the Yeouido swimming pool with 49,048 visitors.
The city stated, "Starting from the 3rd of this month, the Ttukseom and Yeouido swimming pools, as well as the Jamsil and Nanji water parks, have been operating until 10:00 PM," adding, "Citizens are continuing to visit to enjoy water activities even after sunset."

The city is also operating specialized programs for visitors to the swimming pools and water parks.
At the Ttukseom and Yeouido swimming pools, an 'Ice Bath' event using portable pools is held on weekends and public holidays.
At night, content that can be enjoyed while swimming is provided, including busking, DJ performances, and traditional tightrope walking performances.
Measures are also being implemented to ensure the pools remain safe and clean.
For the first time this year, the city has installed 136 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across the six swimming pools and water parks for real-time video monitoring.
If a dangerous situation is detected, such as a user approaching a restricted area in the pool during break times, a warning screen appears on the control monitor and an alarm sounds.
Previously, the city completely replaced 37 filtration systems at the Han River swimming pools over a four-year period starting in 2022 and has been conducting daily simplified water quality tests for turbidity, residual chlorine (disinfectant), and pH (acidity) throughout the operating season.
Park Jin-young, head of the Seoul Future Han River Headquarters, said, "We are receiving a great response as we are providing a new leisure space for citizens during hot summer nights," adding, "Seoul will continue to strengthen safety management, convenience facilities, and water quality control so that more citizens can enjoy the nights at the Han River."
