The people became a wave in the streets, but the stage of the regime remained empty.
You can hide public sentiment, but you cannot go against it.
A Liberation Day event torn apart by color. Only those wearing blue, red, and yellow identification tags were allowed to sit in chairs, while citizens without badges had to sit on the plaza floor. This scene, which divided the people into VIP seats, general seats, and floor seating, invited criticism that it was not a "People's Appointment Ceremony" but a "Badge-Ranking Event." Liberation Day, meant to commemorate freedom and independence, was instead recorded as a shameful stage that discriminated against the public. Provided by the reader.
Gwanghwamun did not permit deception. Two scenes, held just one day apart, laid bare the chasm between the regime and public sentiment. The right-wing rally held on August 16 filled Sejong-daero with an endless wave of citizens. The crowd, with no room even to stand, testified to the direction of public sentiment in itself. However, the "People's Appointment Ceremony" hosted by the Lee Jae-myung regime on August 15 was different. Despite the flamboyant stage and lighting, the venue was empty, and there was no genuine response from the people.
Even more shocking is how the event was managed. Attendees were given blue, red, and yellow identification tags. Those wearing these color-coded badges sat in seats, while those without them were forced to sit on the plaza floor. The Liberation Day ceremony was operated with a tiered system, much like an admission ticket for a concert. This was an insulting display that categorized the people and a disgrace that trampled upon the noble meaning of Liberation Day.
Top: Freedom-loving right-wing citizens gathered densely from in front of City Hall to Gwanghwamun on August 16. Bottom: The August 15 Liberation Day event.
Liberation is a day to celebrate the freedom and sovereignty of all the people. Yet, the regime divided the citizens into "those who get to sit in seats" and "those who must sit on the ground." The so-called "Badge-Ranking Event" will be remembered as a symbol that tarnished the anniversary and discriminated against the people. The music and stage filling the venue were merely empty shells; what remained in the people's memory was the "seating arrangement divided by color."
Former lawmaker Min Kyung-wook stated, "Public sentiment has already been confirmed in the streets. People do not gather for regime events, yet an endless crowd flocks to the Gwanghwamun rally. This is yet another piece of evidence for election fraud." This is not merely a claim. Two photographs and two distinct crowds silently reveal the truth.
The regime still speaks of "the people," but the people are absent from the regime's stage. The people have already answered in the streets, in the plazas, and through the crowds in these photos. Power mistakenly believes it can deceive public sentiment with stagecraft, but public sentiment emerges like a massive tide.
Public sentiment can be deceived, but it cannot be defied. The regime, having desecrated even Liberation Day, must answer to the people. Why did the public turn away from the regime's stage? Why did the day of liberation degenerate into a "Badge-Ranking Event"? If they evade these answers, the end of this regime is already foreshadowed.
