On Wednesday the 15th, President Donald Trump announced his "total endorsement" of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, who is running for governor of Minnesota.
On Truth Social, President Trump described Lindell as "one of the greatest and most hardworking patriots in the United States."
He wrote, "Mike Lindell, the 'Pillow Man' and one of the greatest and most hardworking patriots in the United States, is running for Governor of Minnesota to replace one of the worst and most incompetent governors in American history. Early voting for the primary has begun, and if given the chance, Mike will perform amazingly well!!! He loves Minnesota truly, as I do, and wants to save this state from oblivion and shame. He can do it! No one has sacrificed more for our country, especially in defending election integrity, than Mike Lindell. He truly deserves everything he gets. He will make Minnesota great again!!! Mike Lindell has my complete and total endorsement. He will not let you down. Good luck, Mike!!!"
Furthermore, President Trump defended Lindell while criticizing incumbent U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), the frontrunner in the Democratic primary. Senator Klobuchar announced her candidacy for governor after current Minnesota Governor Tim Walz dropped out of the race last January.
He wrote, "Senator Amy Klobuchar, a not-so-respected figure from Minnesota, is running for governor to succeed the corrupt and incompetent incumbent governor, Tim Walz. I have watched Klobuchar for years, and I believe she is not only as incompetent as Walz, but just as likely corrupt, as she was aware of everything happening as a high-ranking official in Minnesota at the time. If the Minnesota state election had not been rigged, any Republican candidate could have won, but because it is rigged, no Republican candidate has won there in years, not since Richard Nixon. I thought I would win all three times, but each time I was disappointed. I hope you will elect Mike Lindell, whom I fully endorse, as your governor, and forget about corrupt 'Dumocrats' like Amy Klobuchar."
Klobuchar stated on social media that "Mike Lindell is Donald Trump's pick," adding that she wants to be "the choice of the people of Minnesota."
In an interview with the local CBS affiliate WCCO, Lindell called Trump’s endorsement "huge and exciting," noting that he had not expected it at all.
"I think this will give the people of Minnesota hope for change," Lindell said. "And we need change."

Generally, President Trump is known to issue endorsements when a candidate has a high probability of winning.
According to a Survey USA/KSTP poll earlier this month, candidate Lindell is leading the Republican primary with 27% support. He is followed by House Speaker Lisa Demuth at 22% and businessman Kendall Qualls, who has secured the support of the Minnesota Republican Party, at 17%.
The Minnesota primary election is scheduled for August 11.
In his interview with WCCO, Lindell stated that if elected, he wants to eliminate voting machines in Minnesota and introduce hand-counting and paper ballots.
CBS News reported on an interview with Democratic analyst Abu Amara, who said that Minnesota Democrats are very excited about the prospect of facing Lindell, whom he described as a "Minnesota version of Donald Trump."
Amara characterized Lindell as an "eccentric, businessman-turned-politician," whereas "Amy Klobuchar is a hardworking politician who has consistently won for 20 years."
Meanwhile, Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Freedom and Innovation Party, who has established a cooperative relationship with Lindell regarding election fraud, announced on X (formerly Twitter) on the 15th that Lindell's campaign had officially begun, stating: "For years, he has defended election integrity and the principles of freedom and constitutional government in America. I have full confidence that he will serve Minnesota with courage, conviction, and a genuine willingness to sacrifice for the state—and I proudly endorse his campaign."
