Artist Kim So-sun, a seasoned painter and spouse of Dr. Lee Kyu-seok, former president of the Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU), passed away on the 18th.

A graduate of Seoul National University's College of Fine Arts, the late artist was a devoted partner to former President Lee Kyu-seok throughout his journey to advance Taekwondo in Korea and across Asia. She returned to her true calling as a painter about 20 years ago, where she firmly established herself as a respected mid-career artist. 

The late artist was recognized in the art world for her witty and clever reinterpretation of traditional folk art, known as minhwa, and held numerous solo and invitational exhibitions throughout her career.

The funeral parlor has been set up in Room 31 of the Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall in Seoul, and the chief mourner is her husband, former Asian Taekwondo Union President Lee Kyu-seok.
