U.S. President Donald Trump warned on the 22nd (local time) that if Iran attacks ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, he would retaliate by bombing Iran's bridges or power plants.

President Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, that "from this point on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran attacks a ship with missiles, rockets, drones, or any other device or weapon in the Strait of Hormuz, I will bomb and destroy one of its bridges or power plants."

President Trump added that the bridges and power plants targeted for strikes "include those in or near the capital, Tehran."

President Trump had previously warned on the 14th that if Iran did not reach a ceasefire agreement by this week, he would "take down all of their power plants. I will also take down all of their bridges."

As of the previous day, the U.S. military had conducted airstrikes for 11 consecutive days, primarily targeting Iranian military facilities, and it is reported that infrastructure such as bridges, roads, and railways were also struck.
