  • Urging the PPP interim committee to verify the integrity of the June 3rd early presidential election statistics

Amid allegations of compromised election integrity following the disclosure of government contract documents that included a kind of 'conversion tool' in the election management server, a petition has been filed with the People Power Party urging the National Election Commission to immediately verify election statistics.

According to a comprehensive report by on the 18th, the National Movement for Freedom Defense (Chairman Lee Doo-ho) recently submitted a petition to the interim leadership committee of the People Power Party, urging the National Election Commission to verify the statistical integrity of the 21st Presidential Election (early election on June 3rd).

This petition is based on △ an accusation by former National Assembly member Min Kyung-wook (former predecessor of the People Power Party) that the server management contract for the 2020 21st National Assembly election (April 15 general election) included a provision for 'a C/C++ compiler capable of computational conversion' △ and the sentiment of an whistleblower's revelation on PD Lee Young-don's YouTube channel in March, stating that pre-inputting values into a 'Digital Signal Processor (DSP)' behind the ballot sorter could lead to discrepancies between the original image (File A) and the transmitted server images (Files B and C), allowing for manipulation of vote counts for specific candidates or transfer to other candidates.

Chairman Lee Doo-ho (right) and the National Movement for Freedom Defense's petition submitted to the People Power Party's interim leadership committee. Chairman Lee Doo-ho (25th graduating class of Korea Military Academy, first president of the KMA National Defense Fellowship) explained the background of the petition, stating, "To substantiate these reports, the party must promptly determine whether the statistics from the vote counting situation tables for each of the 14,295 polling districts match the National Election Commission's Excel statistics and request data from the integrated voter registry from the National Election Commission."

In a phone interview with this newspaper, Chairman Lee stated, "When I attended the joint national convention of the People Power Party's Daegu and Gyeongbuk branches on the 8th of this month, I was concerned that supporters might turn away as the party's candidates focused on condemning the Lee Jae-myung administration's tyranny rather than proposing countermeasures. Seeing even some senior members dismiss it as a 'conspiracy theory' of election fraud and attack candidates, I decided that criticism based at least on self-investigation results would be reasonable, and thus filed the petition."
