On the 22nd, South Korean and American conservative patriotic civic groups, led by the Freedom University, abruptly issued an open letter to U.S. President Donald Trump and a statement condemning the working visit of Lee Jae-myung. They strongly demanded appropriate treatment for Lee Jae-myung's past actions in order to protect the ROK-U.S. alliance and defend liberal democracy. 

At an emergency press conference held across from the U.S. Embassy in Jongno-gu, Seoul, at 4 p.m. on the same day, Park Jun-young, representative of the Freedom University, read aloud a statement condemning the working visit of Reverend James Daniel Shinn, who has filed a complaint with the United Nations (UN) against Lee Jae-myung for illegal remittances to North Korea. 

Park stated, "We sternly condemn Lee Jae-myung's illegal conduct that shakes the foundation of South Korea's security and liberal democracy." He added, "We urge the immediate arrest and resolute judicial processing of Lee Jae-myung, who is involved in the grave crime of illegal remittances to North Korea. Anti-American incitement and pro-North Korean actions that undermine the core values of the ROK-U.S. alliance and deny South Korea's identity are absolutely unacceptable." 

He continued, "Furthermore, we fiercely condemn the anti-humanitarian oppression, human rights violations, and brutal physical violence inflicted upon former President Yoon Suk-yeol by Lee Jae-myung, who was inaugurated as the 21st President on June 4, 2025, and his followers." He criticized, "We clearly warn that the dictatorial and authoritarian rule of the Lee Jae-myung regime has severely violated the people's freedom and basic rights, and such past mistakes must never be repeated." 

He also emphasized, "Anti-American incitement and pro-North Korean ideology are like poisonous mushrooms that darken the future of South Korea and threaten its security. We strongly urge the eradication of such dangerous ideologies from South Korea and the pursuit of a path of freedom and prosperity." He reiterated, "The historically proven ROK-U.S. alliance has been the cornerstone of South Korea's peace and prosperity, and no force should attempt to undermine it." 

They also called for a complete ban on the entry of anti-American, pro-China, and pro-North Korean elements into the United States. Park stated, "These are not mere ideological criminals but serious security threat forces that destroy democracy worldwide and incite chaos." He strongly demanded, "Especially, their children receiving education in the United States with support from parents holding ideologies that deny freedom and democracy must never be allowed. Those who seek to destroy freedom should not enjoy its benefits." 

Therefore, he declared, "We strongly demand a complete ban on their entry into the United States and furthermore, the expulsion of their families and children so that they can exert no influence on American soil." He vowed, "Together with all who love freedom, we will protect the security of the United States and South Korea and steadfastly defend the values of freedom and democracy." 

Following this, former National Assembly member Min Kyung-wook read an open letter to U.S. President Donald Trump in English, receiving a strong positive response. 

Min stated, "President Trump must understand that the 'alliance' in the ROK-U.S. alliance is an alliance between the American and Korean people, not an alliance with the corrupt individual Lee Jae-myung." He criticized, "Lee Jae-myung, who endangered the free world through illegal remittances to North Korea and usurped the presidency through fraudulent elections, is not the legitimate leader of South Korea." He further elaborated, "After becoming president, Lee Jae-myung not only faced impeachment and arrest but also attempted to forcibly arrest former President Yoon Suk-yeol, causing him injury. Furthermore, breaking precedent, he imprisoned both the President and the First Lady simultaneously, committing anti-human rights tyranny." 

He urged, "Therefore, President Trump, when you meet this person, never treat him as an equal. Call him what he is: a criminal, a fraud, a dictator." He expressed concern, "If you do not clearly state that America's actions are directed at a corrupt group, the line will blur, and Lee Jae-myung will distort America's words into anti-American propaganda." He added, "It is no coincidence but God's providence that Ambassador Morse Tan and international election monitors have shown the world the difference between a corrupt regime and the many patriotic citizens fighting for freedom. President Trump, please bring clarity to America, assurance to Korea, and due judgment to Lee Jae-myung." 

After his English speech, former lawmaker Min reiterated in Korean, "It must be clarified that America's measures (such as tariffs) are directed at Lee Jae-myung and his faction, not our people." He added, "If President Trump warmly treats Lee Jae-myung, who was elected through fraudulent elections, by offering 500 trillion won, it will dampen the spirit of patriots and cause great disappointment." He stressed, "Lee Jae-myung should not be treated as the legitimate president of South Korea. He should be called by his rightful name: a dictator, a criminal, and one who acts against the interests of South Korea, the United States, and the free world." 

Following this, Dr. Jang Jae-eon stated, "I will watch to see what the fake president says when he meets the real U.S. President." He exclaimed, "President Trump will demand enormous things from the fake president, from alpha to omega. We must all fight harder against the fake president as we watch the results of the summit." 

Won Jong-sam, Senior Vice President of the ROTC Patriotic Comrades Association, said, "For our Republic of Korea to survive as a liberal democratic nation, the most crucial element was the firm anti-communist consciousness of the people, armed with an anti-communism spirit." He continued, "However, South Korea is currently defenseless against the 'special warfare' and deceptive tactics carried out by Chinese Communists and their henchmen and internal traitors." He explained, "This is because our anti-communism spirit has been contaminated by the distortions and false propaganda of red media outlets that have abandoned truthful reporting, clouding the consciousness and judgment of the people." He concluded, "Only the awakened patriotic citizens are fighting a lonely battle on the streets as the last line of defense to protect freedom." 

Jo Yang-geon, a columnist for this newspaper and an expert in planning and executing asphalt right-wing rallies, stated, "In a reality where the separation of powers is not functioning and even the media is controlled, President Trump should treat Lee Jae-myung the same way he treats Maduro of Venezuela and Lula of Brazil." He strongly requested, "If Lee Jae-myung sets foot in Washington, arrest him immediately." Joo Ok-soon, representative of the Mom's Brigade, warned, "The fate of South Korea will be determined by the choices Lee Jae-myung makes on his trip to the United States." She added gravely, "If he cooperates with China and North Korea to maintain his power and leans towards them, South Korea's economy and security will inevitably plunge into a quagmire, and the nation will move towards socialist totalitarianism."

We sternly condemn Lee Jae-myung's illegal conduct that shakes the foundation of South Korea's security and liberal democracy!

We urge the immediate arrest and resolute judicial processing of Lee Jae-myung, who is involved in the grave crime of illegal remittances to North Korea. Anti-American incitement and pro-North Korean actions that undermine the core values of the ROK-U.S. alliance and deny South Korea's identity are absolutely unacceptable.

Furthermore, we fiercely condemn the anti-humanitarian oppression, human rights violations, and brutal physical violence inflicted upon former President Yoon Suk-yeol by Lee Jae-myung, who was inaugurated as the 21st President on June 4, 2025, and his followers. We clearly warn that the dictatorial and authoritarian rule of the Lee Jae-myung regime has severely violated the people's freedom and basic rights, and such past mistakes must never be repeated.

We reaffirm that South Korea must stand firmly as a free and democratic nation on the foundation of a strong ROK-U.S. alliance. Anti-American incitement and pro-North Korean ideology are like poisonous mushrooms that darken the future of South Korea and threaten its security. We strongly urge the eradication of such dangerous ideologies from South Korea and the pursuit of a path of freedom and prosperity. The historically proven ROK-U.S. alliance has been the cornerstone of South Korea's peace and prosperity, and no force should attempt to undermine it.

We demand a complete ban on the entry of anti-American, pro-China, and pro-North Korean elements, who threaten the values of the free world, into the United States! These are not mere ideological criminals but serious security threat forces that destroy democracy worldwide and incite chaos. Their destructive ideologies undermine the foundations of free societies, harm national interests, and ultimately threaten universal human values. Granting entry to the United States to individuals who sympathize with such forces or spread their ideologies is equivalent to jeopardizing one's own security.

Especially, it is clearly stated that their children receiving education in the United States with support from parents holding ideologies that deny freedom and democracy must never be allowed. Those who seek to destroy freedom should not enjoy its benefits. Anti-American forces directly threaten America's national security, and pro-China and pro-North Korean forces seek to weaken America's alliance system and dismantle the solidarity of the free world. Such threats must never be overlooked.

We strongly demand a complete ban on their entry into the United States and furthermore, the expulsion of their families and children so that they can exert no influence on American soil. An Open Letter from Former Lawmaker Min Kyung-wook to President Trump.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

President Trump will soon meet Lee Jae-myung, the self-proclaimed President of South Korea, in Washington. Let me be clear: America's alliance with the Korean people must never be equated with this one corrupt individual.

First – Lee Jae-myung is a criminal who has violated international sanctions. He illegally funneled millions of dollars to North Korea, aiding a regime that threatens the United States, South Korea, and the entire free world. A courageous pastor has already filed charges against him with U.S. authorities. One who violates international law to assist a dictator deserves condemnation, not respect.

Second – Lee Jae-myung is not the legitimate leader of South Korea. He is a usurper who seized power through fraudulent elections. When the people-elected President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law to uncover the truth of past fraudulent elections, Lee did not respond with truth. Instead, he met it with tyranny. He impeached President Yoon and had him arrested. Then, after removing the legitimate leader, Lee himself ascended to the presidency through yet another fraudulent election. This is not democracy. This is dictatorship.

And let us not forget: Lee Jae-myung has long been an anti-American agitator. He publicly called the U.S. Forces in Korea not allies, but "occupying troops." How can we trust someone who despises America and insults the alliance?

Third – After becoming president, Lee Jae-myung has committed acts of anti-humanitarian tyranny. Not content with impeachment and arrest, he repeatedly attempted to forcibly arrest former President Yoon Suk-yeol, injuring him in the process. Furthermore, he broke precedent by imprisoning both the President and the First Lady at the same time. Such actions are unimaginable in a democratic country. This is not justice; it is political revenge, and tyranny itself.

I state this: Lee Jae-myung has betrayed his people, he has betrayed the alliance, and he has betrayed freedom.

President Trump, when you meet this man, never treat him as an equal. Call him what he is: a criminal, a fraud, a dictator. Clearly state that America's actions are directed at this corrupt group, not at the people of Korea.

The moment that line is blurred, Lee Jae-myung will distort America's words into anti-American propaganda. However, if you draw that line firmly, the Korean people will know the truth: that America stands with the people, not with the betrayer.

Fortunately, Ambassador Morse Tan and international election monitors have already drawn that line. They have shown the world the difference between a corrupt regime and the countless patriotic citizens fighting for freedom. This was not by chance; it was providence.

Now, President Trump, providence calls you. America must protect its interests. Lee Jae-myung must be judged. And the ROK-U.S. alliance must be preserved without wavering.

On August 25th, the world will watch as you sit down with this usurper. We, who defend freedom in Korea, will also be watching.

President Trump, please bring clarity to America, assurance to Korea, and the due judgment to Lee Jae-myung.

He attempted several times to drag former President Yoon into custody, leaving him injured in the process. And in a shocking break with all democratic norms, he jailed both the President and the First Lady at the same time. These are not acts of justice. These are acts of vengeance, of tyranny, of political terror.

So I say this: Lee Jae-myung betrayed his nation. He betrayed his allies. He betrayed freedom itself.

Mr. President, when you meet this man, do not treat him as an equal. Call him what he is: a criminal, a fraud, a dictator. Make it clear that America’s actions are aimed at him and his corrupt circle—not at the people of Korea.

Because if you blur that line, Lee will twist your words into anti-American propaganda. But if you draw the line boldly, Koreans will know the truth: that America stands with them, not with the man who betrayed them.

Thankfully, international observers like Ambassador Morse Tan have already drawn this line. They showed the world the difference between a corrupt regime and millions of patriotic Koreans who still fight for liberty. That was no accident. That was providence.

And now, President Trump, providence calls you. America must secure its own interests. Lee Jae-myung must face justice. And the alliance with Korea must remain unshakable.
