North Korea has recently been found to have installed additional loudspeakers targeting South Korea.

A Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) official stated on the 22nd, "Our military has identified signs of additional loudspeakers being installed in some frontline areas of North Korea and is closely monitoring related developments."

According to military authorities, two new loudspeakers targeting South Korea have been installed, and the installation is estimated to have taken place the previous day.

Previously, our military fully dismantled all fixed loudspeakers targeting North Korea between the 4th and 5th of this month to ease tensions between the two Koreas. Following this, the JCS announced on the 9th that North Korea was dismantling some of the loudspeakers it had installed on its frontline targeting South Korea.

However, Kim Yo Jong, Vice Department Director of the Workers' Party of Korea, denied the JCS announcement in a statement released through the Korean Central News Agency on the 14th, saying, "We have never dismantled and have no intention of dismantling the loudspeakers deployed on the border."

It is reported that North Korea initially removed two out of approximately 40 loudspeakers targeting South Korea, but then immediately restored one of them to its original state, leaving only one still dismantled.

However, with the recent installation of two new loudspeakers, the total number of loudspeakers targeting South Korea has effectively increased by one.

The additional installation of loudspeakers targeting South Korea by North Korea has occurred amid the ongoing Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) joint military exercise between South Korea and the United States, which began on the 18th.
