Los Angeles (LA) FC striker Son Heung-min (33) has scored his first goal of the season in the Major League Soccer (MLS) with a spectacular right-footed free kick, just three games into his debut.
Son scored the opening goal in the 6th minute of the first half via a free kick during an away match against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, on the 24th (Korean time).

Starting as the lone striker in a 4-3-3 formation, Son stepped up to take the free kick from just outside the penalty arc—earned by Denis Bouanga—and struck a powerful right-footed shot into the top-left corner of the Dallas goal.
Having recorded his first attacking point in an LAFC uniform with an assist during the away match against the New England Revolution on the 17th, Son has now savored the joy of his first MLS goal in only his third appearance.
However, LAFC could not hold onto Son's lead, conceding an equalizer to Dallas's Logan Farrington in the 13th minute of the first half. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, leaving LAFC unable to secure a second consecutive win and settling for a three-match unbeaten streak (1 win, 2 draws).

LAFC went into the match against Dallas with high expectations, starting Son as the primary striker. It was his second consecutive start following the New England game.
Son's goal-scoring instinct exploded just six minutes in.
As the team's designated set-piece specialist, Son stepped up to take the free kick near the top of the penalty arc, firing a precise and powerful right-footed shot that rattled the net in the top-left corner of the Dallas goal.
With this debut MLS goal, combined with his assist against New England, Son has now tallied 1 goal and 1 assist this season.
The commentators praised the goal, noting, "Son lifted it over the wall. He put enough pace and curl on the ball," adding, "The ball moved away from the goalkeeper and tucked perfectly into the corner of the goal."

However, the joy was short-lived, as LAFC conceded an equalizer during a counterattack in the 13th minute of the first half.
An LAFC defender blocked a ball played in from the back, but the rebound fell to Dallas's Patrickson Delgado.
Farrington received the pass from Delgado and fired a right-footed shot from near the right side of the penalty area, which deflected slightly off an LAFC defender's foot and into the net.
After losing the lead, LAFC focused on finding a second goal with Son leading the attack.
Son had a right-footed shot from the penalty arc in the 35th minute saved by the goalkeeper, and a left-footed attempt late in the first half was blocked by the defensive wall, leaving the score level at the break.

LAFC appeared to score in the 9th minute of the second half, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
After a right-footed shot from Son on the left side of the penalty area was deflected by a defender, Ryan Hollingshead rushed to the front of the goal to tap it in, but the effort was disallowed due to offside.
In the 16th minute of the second half, Son delivered a corner kick from the right, setting up a header for Bouanga, but it was blocked by a fine save from the goalkeeper, narrowly missing an assist opportunity. In the 25th minute of the second half, a powerful right-footed strike from near the penalty arc went straight at the keeper.
LAFC endured some 'bad luck' in the 43rd minute of the second half when a cross from Son on the right was met by Bouanga, whose shot hit a defender and then ricocheted off the crossbar, leaving LAFC to settle for a draw.
After the match, Son was named 'Player of the Match' (POTM), an honor given to the best performer of the day.
This marks the second consecutive week and the second time overall that Son has been selected as POTM, following his performance against New England a week ago.
Furthermore, the football statistics site SofaScore recognized Son as the best player on the pitch, awarding him the highest rating of 8.7 among all players.

'Young gun' attacker Jeong Sang-bin (23), who plays for St. Louis City SC, also recorded his first assist of the season.
Jeong started as a right winger in the MLS regular season away game against the Vancouver Whitecaps held at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada. In the 28th minute of the second half, with the score deadlocked at 1-1, he assisted João Klauss's go-ahead goal.
St. Louis turned the game around to take a 2-1 lead, but conceded two consecutive goals late in the second half to suffer a 2-3 comeback loss.
St. Louis took the lead in the 13th minute with a header from Eduard Löwen, but allowed an equalizer via a penalty kick in first-half stoppage time, ending the half at 1-1.
In the 28th minute of the second half, during a tightly contested period, Jeong showcased a brilliant sprint.
Jeong sprinted powerfully from near the right touchline at the halfway line, outmaneuvering a defender before sending a cross toward the box. Klauss, rushing into the center, received the ball and scored with a left-footed turn-and-shoot.
Since transferring to St. Louis last month, Jeong has recorded his first assist for his new team, coming just two games after he scored his first goal following his arrival on the 10th.
However, St. Louis conceded a header equalizer in the 34th minute of the second half, followed by a game-winning penalty kick from Thomas Müller in the dying moments of stoppage time, resulting in a comeback loss.
