U.S. President Donald Trump takes questions from White House correspondents on the 25th (local time). / Captured from Fox News. U.S. President Donald Trump described the Lee Jae-myung administration's raids on churches and U.S. military bases in South Korea as a "vicious" act and declared that he would not tolerate it under any circumstances.
During a Q&A session with White House reporters following the signing of an executive order on the morning of the 25th (local time), President Trump responded to a question regarding South Korea by saying, "I heard that some very vicious raids on churches have been carried out in South Korea by the new administration over the last few days."
He then issued a public warning, stating, "I heard that the new (Lee Jae-myung) administration even entered U.S. military bases in South Korea to seize information," and added, "They should not have done that."
Furthermore, he directly criticized the situation, saying, "I'm hearing bad stories, and while I don't know if they are true or not, we will find out. As you know, the new president is coming here. I look forward to meeting him. But we won't stand for things like that (such as the suppression of churches)."
Previously, President Trump posted a shocking message on social media just three hours before a bilateral working-level meeting between the U.S. and South Korea, stating, "It seems like a 'Purge or Revolution' is happening in South Korea right now."
In a post on his Truth Social account, he began by asking, "What is happening in South Korea?" and then stated, "We (the U.S.) cannot do business there (in South Korea) if they act like that."
He continued by saying, "I am meeting the new president at the White House today," hinting that he might bring up the political situation in South Korea as an agenda item when he faces Lee Jae-myung, and concluded by urging continued attention to the matter, saying, "Thank you for looking into this."
