President Trump posted a message on social media on August 26.

“Any country that introduces digital regulations targeting American companies must be prepared for retaliation.”

The arrow of this warning was not aimed solely at the EU. It is reasonable to interpret it as a precise critique of the online platform regulations recently introduced by the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC).

The Lee Jae-myung administration's Fair Trade Commission has put forward a bill that mimics the EU's Digital Markets Act. The newly appointed chairman, Professor Joo Byung-ki of Seoul National University, is considered a prominent advocate for regulation and chaebol reform. Many viewed the appointment itself as a signal for tighter regulations.

While this administration outwardly packages its policies as a way to protect small business owners and consumers, the reality is quite different.

The "fairness" championed by Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party is nothing more than a mirage.

In reality, it is a deceptive tactic designed to tame public opinion and extend their power. At its core, this regulatory proposal is merely a blueprint for a digital dictatorship, allowing the regime to directly seize control of the market and public opinion.

If the Fair Trade Commission becomes the judge, the outcome is obvious.

The government could intervene in everything from Naver search rankings and KakaoTalk exposure to Coupang’s display methods. The flow of information, consumption, and public opinion would fall under the regime’s control.

Ultimately, this bill is not about market order. The justification of protecting small business owners is merely a smokescreen. 

What the regime seeks is not market transparency, but the power of exposure and exclusion.

The moment the government decides who to boost and who to suppress, the law ceases to be a market regulation and degrades into a tool for expanding power.

This bill is unsuited to Korea's reality, as the domestic market is small and corporate competitiveness is fragile. Nevertheless, Lee Jae-myung is pushing it forward, masking it as an international standard.

To them, it does not matter if the industry collapses or if there are no real benefits.

Their sole goal is the maintenance of power. It is simply the Democratic Party's "100-year ruling plan," a reckless endeavor hidden behind the word "fairness."

Trump’s remarks have torn away that mask.

By exposing the true face of a dictatorship wrapped in the guise of fairness, he has dealt an international blow to the South Korean Democratic government.

The "fair economy" of the Lee Jae-myung government is just another name for an obsession with power.

The end result will be industrial stagnation and diplomatic isolation.

The reality where freedom and innovation are crumbling.

This is the true reason why the Democratic Party is ruining the country.

And the Korea-US summit that concluded yesterday confirmed this once again. Trump’s negotiating tactics were already targeting Lee Jae-myung. Immediately following the summit, observers remarked, "The squeeze has begun."

While Lee Jae-myung should be feeling the suffocating pressure, one wonders if he is so lost in his delusions that he is only thinking about a delicious soybean paste stew served up by Cho Kuk.
