People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyuk stated on the 27th, while presiding over his first Supreme Council meeting since taking office, "It is time to shed the past and move towards the future."

At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Jang said, "The public sentiment expressed by party members and citizens during the party convention was a call to act like an opposition party, to check the dominant ruling party, to properly check the Lee Jae-myung administration, and to show competence."

He added, "We will be reborn as a party that presents alternatives that the public can sympathize with and properly resolves livelihood issues," and "We will show a new face of the People Power Party that has not been seen before."

He emphasized, "All members of the People Power Party must unite and move forward," adding, "I will stand at the forefront, and our leadership will stand together and move forward."

Floor Leader Song Eon-seok, regarding the results of the South Korea-US summit, pointed out, "At the end of last month, we agreed to a burden of $450 billion in trade negotiations, and this time we added another $150 billion, making it a total of $600 billion," and "Japan is investing $550 billion, so the absolute scale is larger than Japan's."

He continued, "We also promised to increase defense spending as requested by the United States," and criticized, "At this point, they gave them everything they asked for. Can we truly congratulate ourselves on a successful negotiation?"

Furthermore, concerning the nominee for Minister of Education, Choi Kyo-jin, he attacked, "The police refused a request for data asking for the blood alcohol content at the time of Choi's drunk driving, citing invasion of privacy." He demanded, "Choi should voluntarily disclose his blood alcohol content, and if he insists on protecting his privacy, he should resign from his ministerial post immediately."

Supreme Council Member Kim Min-soo, targeting former Party Leader Han Dong-hoon, asserted, "The investigation into the party member bulletin board must be conducted along with a party audit."

The People Power Party experienced sharp exchanges between the pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Suk-yeol) faction and the pro-Han (pro-Han Dong-hoon) faction over allegations that Han's family was involved in a post slandering former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife on the party member bulletin board in November last year.

Kim also criticized the South Korea-US summit, saying, "He must have realized how difficult it is to be as dignified on the diplomatic stage as former President Yoon Suk-yeol," and condemned, "It was embarrassing to see such a humiliating display of trying to appease a significant statement left by President Trump, leaning on no one and resorting to flattery."
