Korean Shooting Team Secures 8 Medals in a Single Day at Asian Championships

The Korean shooting team clinched a total of 8 medals in a single day at the Asian Championships, including one gold, three silvers, and four bronzes.

Son Geon-woo (Korea National Sport University) won the gold medal in the men's junior 25m rapid fire pistol individual event at the 16th Asian Shooting Championships held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on the 26th (local time).

In the team event for the same discipline, Lee Si-woo (Korea National Sport University), Moon Dae-hee (Yuwon University), and Lee Won-jae (Incheon University) collaborated to win a bronze medal.

In the women's junior 50m rifle 3 positions individual event, Oh Se-hee (Chungbuk Health and Science University) took home the silver medal, while Shim Yeo-jin (Korea National Sport University) secured a bronze.

In the junior team event, Oh Se-hee, Shim Yeo-jin, and Kim Tae-hee (Korea National Sport University) won the silver medal. In the senior team event, Kim Je-hee (Hwaseong City Hall), Lee Eun-seo (Seosan City Hall), and Lim Ha-na (Hwaseong City Hall) earned a bronze medal.

In the men's senior 10m moving target mixed event, Jeong Yu-jin (Cheongju City Hall) won a bronze medal, and in the junior event, Kim Jae-min (Kyungmin High School) took the silver.

With the addition of these 8 medals, the Korean shooting team has accumulated a total of 39 medals across all disciplines, including pistol, rifle, and moving target, over the nine days of the competition.

An official from the Korea Shooting Federation commented, "The performance of our junior athletes, in particular, has been outstanding, indicating a bright future for Korean shooting."
