North Korea announced its citizens would be informed about Chairman Kim Jong Un's attendance at China's Victory Day celebrations, just one day after the schedule was revealed.

The North Korean Workers' Party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on the 29th in a boxed article below the masthead that Chairman Kim would soon visit China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the 80th anniversary ceremony for the 'Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japan and the World Anti-Fascist War (World War II)' Victory on the 3rd of next month.

North Korean state-run radio, Korean Central Broadcasting Station, also reported the same content on the morning of the 29th.

North Korea first announced Chairman Kim's visit to China through its external media outlet, Korean Central News Agency, the previous morning, and then revealed it through its domestic media the following day.

Like Korean Central News Agency, Rodong Sinmun and Central Broadcasting did not mention details such as other attendees.

Since taking power, Chairman Kim has visited China, Russia, Singapore, and Vietnam for bilateral talks, but this will be his first appearance on the diplomatic stage at a multilateral forum involving multiple heads of state, including the Chinese Victory Day celebration.
