Director Lee Han-jong's 'Blues in My Life' Wins 'Young Critic Award' at the Aix-en-Provence International Short Film Festival in France

Director Lee Han-jong's won the 'Young Critics Award' at the 35th Festival International du Court Métrage à Aix-en-Provence held in Aix-en-Provence, France. Cho Hee-dae, CEO of co-producer Algorithm Media Lab, received the award at the closing ceremony held in France on December 5th.

The fact that is the first Korean film to win an award at the 35th Festival International du Court Métrage à Aix-en-Provence adds to its significance. The 'Young Critics Award' is known to be presented by French critics and a selected audience jury during the film festival.

is a black comedy that depicts the episode of 'Seung-sik,' who struggles to protect his unpaid wages and his position at a redevelopment demolition site. The film was created through the Busan International Film Festival's 'Color of Asia - Newcomers' project.

Produced through a joint project by the Busan International Film Festival, China's largest video site Youku-Tudou, and Huayi Pictures, the film subsequently won the Grand Prize and Audience Award at the Daegu Independent Film Festival, Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival, and the Catholic Film Festival.

Following this, the film achieved a remarkable feat by being selected for Clermont-Ferrand, known as the 'Cannes of Short Films,' and then went on to win the Grand Prize at the 22nd Corti da Sogni International Short Film Festival in Italy in July of this year.

Director Lee Han-jong, who directed , is currently preparing to produce a feature commercial film after directing the 7-episode Naver web drama .
