Jang Dong-hyuk: "Additional $150 Billion Promised with One Remark from President Trump...Ended with Nothing but Gift-Giving"

The People Power Party (PPP) on September 1st labeled the US-South Korea summit held in Washington D.C. last month as an "abnormal meeting" and urged the government and the Democratic Party to disclose the specific details of any agreements.
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, PPP Leader Jang Dong-hyuk criticized the US-South Korea summit, stating, "It was an abnormal meeting that began with flattery and ended with nothing but a barrage of gifts."
Jang stated, "With a single remark from President Trump, referring to 'purges,' an additional $150 billion was promised as an investment," adding, "Despite insisting it was a summit, it was a meeting that produced no agreed-upon document, only a bill."
He further criticized, "While the Yoon Suk-yeol administration's diplomacy was fiercely scrutinized for the slightest misstep, the Lee Jae-myung administration's diplomacy is being praised even when everything is given away."
He then demanded answers from the government and the Democratic Party, asking, "Exactly how much have you promised to give away, and after squeezing domestic companies to provide these funds, how will you invest in domestic industries?"
Floor Leader Song Eon-seok also criticized, "At this US-South Korea summit, where there wasn't even an agreed document, we only made promises of investments in the US totaling $600 billion, over 830 trillion won in Korean currency," stating, "This transfers a burden of approximately 16 million won per person onto the public."
He continued, "Despite giving away an astronomical amount in gifts, we could not get a firm commitment on when the automobile tariffs, which are still at 25%, will be reduced," asserting, "We can no longer tolerate the incompetence of this Lee Jae-myung administration."
Regarding the Democratic Party's push to establish a special treason court, he commented, "Because their unreasonable investigation requests have been rejected, they are trying to fabricate the results they desire by creating a special court," and stated, "This anti-democratic act that undermines the separation of powers and the spirit of the Constitution must be immediately halted."
