Rain nationwide on the first day of September... Eastern Gangwon coast, desperate for rain, expected to receive less than 5mm

Due to the influence of a low-pressure trough, most areas nationwide will experience rain on the first day of September. However, the eastern Gangwon coast, which is in dire need of rain, is expected to receive less than 5mm.
Rain has been falling in the central regions since last night.
As of 8 AM this morning, significant amounts of rain have already fallen in the northwestern Seoul metropolitan area, including 69.5mm in Deokjeok-myeon, Ongjin-gun, Incheon; 61.0mm in Jeung-myeon, Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do; 53.5mm in Ansan City; and 41.5mm in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul.
The rain is expected to continue into tomorrow. Occasional rain is forecast for southern Gyeonggi-do, central and southern inland Gangwon, and central and southern mountainous areas of Gangwon until the early morning of September 2nd; until the morning of September 2nd for Chungcheong; and until the afternoon of September 2nd for southern regions and Jeju.
Estimated rainfall: Seoul metropolitan area, Seohae 5 Islands, inland Gangwon, mountainous Gangwon, Gwangju, Jeonnam, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam: 30-80mm (up to 100mm or more in the Seoul metropolitan area excluding southeastern Gyeonggi and northern inland Gangwon); Chungcheong: 20-60mm (up to 80mm or more on the northwestern coastal areas of South Chungcheong); North Jeolla and Jeju: 10-60mm (up to 80mm or more in mountainous Jeju and southern mid-mountainous areas); Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Ulleungdo, Dokdo: 5-60mm.
As a developed ridge of high pressure in inland areas hinders the movement of rain clouds, heavy downpours are expected only in areas where clouds linger.
In areas with heavy rain advisories, such as southwestern Seoul, Incheon, western coastal areas of Gyeonggi-do, northern inland Gangwon, and Jeju, there may be downpours of 20-30mm per hour (some areas up to 40mm or more) until this afternoon, so preparations should be made to prevent damage.
The eastern Gangwon coast, which desperately needs rain, is expected to receive less than 5mm of rain this afternoon.
It was previously expected to receive around 5mm by yesterday, but this amount has been further reduced.
Rainfall in the Yeongdong region of Gangwon has been scarce, with only 60.6mm recorded from July 31st to August 30th. This is the second lowest rainfall for the same period since the weather observation network was expanded nationwide in 1973. This summer's rainfall in Gangneung has been 187.9mm, the second lowest summer rainfall since 1912, when records began, following 1917 (187.4mm).

Temperatures will remain above average.
Daytime high temperatures nationwide today will range from 27 to 34°C.
Daytime highs in Seoul and Incheon will be 29°C and 28°C respectively, remaining below 30°C. However, temperatures in Ulsan and Busan will rise to 31°C, Daejeon and Gwangju to 32°C, and Daegu to 33°C.
With heatwave advisories remaining in effect, particularly in Gangwon Yeongdong, southern regions, and Jeju, the apparent temperature in these areas will reach around 33°C during the day, making it muggy.
Strong winds of around 70 km/h (20 m/s) are expected in mountainous Gangwon today.
In the sea, strong winds of 30-50 km/h (9-14 m/s) and high waves of 1.5-3.5 meters are expected from this morning in the outer waters of the central East Sea and the outer northern waters of the southern East Sea.
Winds will also be strong in the southern outer waters of the southern East Sea and the eastern southern waters of the South Sea, blowing at 30-45 km/h (8-12 m/s), so caution is advised.
