K-pop Takes Top Spots on Billboard Charts: KDAH's 'Golden' Hits No. 1 on Singles, Stray Kids' Album Reigns Supreme

K-pop Dominates Both Charts for the First Time in 5 Years... 'KDAH' OST Single Earns 8 Entries

K-pop has simultaneously clinched the No. 1 position on Billboard's main singles chart, the 'Hot 100,' and the main album chart, the 'Billboard 200.'

According to the latest charts released on the 3rd (local time), the original soundtrack (OST) 'Golden' from the Netflix animated series 'K-pop Demon Hunters' climbed to No. 1 on the 'Hot 100' for the third consecutive week, following its previous week's top ranking.

On the 'Billboard 200,' the group Stray Kids' fourth full-length album 'KARMA' debuted at No. 1. This marks Stray Kids' seventh consecutive album to reach the top of this chart, dating back to 'ODDINARY' released in 2022.

Stray Kids is the first artist in Billboard history to have seven consecutive albums debut at No. 1 on the 'Billboard 200,' starting with their debut entry 'ODDINARY.'

With this achievement, both the singles and album charts are topped by K-pop genres this week. This is the first time in approximately five years since December 2020 that the K-pop genre has swept both charts, when BTS's album 'BE' and its title track 'Life Goes On' secured the No. 1 spots.

This week's singles chart features a total of eight songs from the 'K-pop Demon Hunters' OST, including 'Golden.'

'Your Idol' and 'Soda Pop' ranked 4th and 5th respectively, while 'How It's Done' and 'What It Sounds Like' secured the 9th and 19th positions.

'Takedown' is positioned at 21st, and 'Free' is at 23rd. 'Takedown,' performed by TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, is ranked 50th.

BLACKPINK's Rosé and pop star Bruno Mars' duet 'APT.' is at 43rd, and 'Boombayah' by BLACKPINK, the group Rosé belongs to, is at 78th.

TWICE's 'STRATEGY' is at 51st, and Stray Kids' new song 'CEREMONY' makes its debut on the singles chart at 52nd.

HYBE's global girl group KATSEYE's 'GABRIELA' secured the 63rd position, and 'Gnarly' re-entered the chart at 98th.

On the album chart, the 'K-pop Demon Hunters' OST album maintained its second position for the past week, marking its 10th week on the chart.

KATSEYE's 'Beautiful Chaos' ranked 45th, and TWICE's 'THIS IS FOR' was at 91st.

BLACKPINK member Jennie's solo album 'Ruby' re-entered the album chart at 153rd.
