On the 4th, the People Power Party escalated its confrontation with the ruling party, shouting "desperate resistance" as the special prosecutor's office, led by Cho Eun-seok, continued its attempted search and seizure of the floor leader's office and administrative office for the third consecutive day.

The People Power Party defined the special prosecutor's widespread search and seizure as "oppression of the opposition party," linking it to the Democratic Party's push to establish a special tribunal for rebellion, and while denouncing the special prosecutor's investigation, it also unleashed strong messages towards the government and the ruling party.

This morning, the People Power Party held a "Rally to Condemn the Special Prosecutor's Investigation, Political Oppression to Annihilate the Opposition Party" in front of the main building of the National Assembly. About 1,500 lawmakers and party members (estimated by the party) raised their voices, wearing raincoats in the rain.

Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk stated, "Today will be the day we break the frame of the garbage-like rebellion party," adding, "It will be the first day of collapsing the immoral Lee Jae-myung administration."

Jang emphasized, "The special prosecutor's investigation, built on sand, will ultimately become the blade that beheads the Lee Jae-myung administration," and urged, "We must advance, risking our lives, to bring down the Lee Jae-myung administration."

Floor leader Song Eon-seok criticized, "The special prosecutor entering the National Assembly main building with a search and seizure warrant now is completely illegal," and asked, "Isn't it illegal and excessive investigation to try to find evidence for other investigations by raiding the opposition party's floor leader's office when they know there's nothing to find?"

Song stated, "Even if the special prosecutor fabricates charges and indicts, they are expected to be acquitted in court, so the Democratic Party is trying to make them guilty by creating a special tribunal they can control," and vowed, "We will fight to the end against the illegal and immoral special prosecutor and the Democratic Party's one-party dictatorship."

Kwok Gyu-taek, the party's chief spokesperson for legislative affairs, said, "The special prosecutor's purpose has been distorted into oppressing the opposition party, targeting People Power Party lawmakers," and declared, "We will hold them accountable to the end for annihilating the opposition party, political oppression, and the special prosecutor's investigation through parliamentary politics in the National Assembly, the rule of law in the courts, and with the people in the streets."

Rep. Na Kyung-won, who has been nominated as the People Power Party's liaison for the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee, argued, "The propaganda of a rebellion frame is continuing relentlessly through political investigations by the special prosecutor, warrant issuance by the courts, and public opinion manipulation through the media," adding, "They intend to institutionalize and solidify the rebellion frame."

The People Power Party, which has launched its anti-ruling party struggle within the National Assembly through Supreme Council meetings and condemnation rallies, is also considering street protests.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AmCham), leader Jang Dong-hyuk said, "If the rebellion smear campaign ends without success, it will lead to the collapse of the administration, so I believe the special tribunal is a last-ditch effort," and pledged, "We will mobilize all means to fight and fight wider and stronger to prevent this."

Speaking to reporters, Choi Bo-yoon, the chief spokesperson, stated, "During a closed-door Supreme Council meeting, there was an opinion that the strongest form of struggle should be waged," and added, "There is also a possibility of street protests."

In addition, the People Power Party filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office against Special Prosecutor Cho Eun-seok and eight prosecutors and investigators on charges of abuse of power.

The People Power Party announced that it had voluntarily submitted only the minimum necessary evidence after consultation with the special prosecutor's office, which attempted the search and seizure.

In a notice, Kwok Gyu-taek, the party's chief spokesperson for legislative affairs, stated, "Regarding the search and seizure warrant for the special prosecutor's floor leader's office and administrative bureau, we provided the data in the form of voluntary submission within a reasonable and minimal scope through consultations on the period, scope, and data search methods."
