As Son Heung-min (33, LAFC) showcased his sharp form by scoring in two consecutive matches during the South Korean national football team's two-match friendly series in the U.S., Major League Soccer (MLS) spotlighted his performance on its official website.

On the 7th (KST), Son scored the opening goal in the 18th minute against the U.S., securing a victory for the national team led by head coach Hong Myung-bo.

Following this, on the 10th, he entered the match against Mexico as a substitute at the start of the second half. With Korea trailing 0-1, he unleashed a powerful left-footed strike from the left side of the penalty area in the 20th minute of the second half to score a crucial equalizer.

On the 12th, the MLS office selected 10 players who delivered impressive performances during this month's international break.

Son was named alongside players such as Lionel Messi (Inter Miami), who led Argentina to a 3-0 victory with a multi-goal performance against Venezuela, and Efrain Morales (CF Montréal), who contributed to Bolivia's 1-0 win against Brazil with a clean sheet performance.

The MLS office stated, "LAFC’s new superstar Son Heung-min played a key role in changing the flow of the game in both of the September international friendly matches."

The day before, the league office had already praised Son by highlighting his goals in a post titled, "Sonny Strikes Again! LAFC Star Continues Scoring Streak for National Team."

The post noted, "Son, who transferred to LAFC last month for a league-record fee of approximately $26.5 million (36.8 billion KRW), has recorded 1 goal and 1 assist in his 4 league matches, and has now added 2 goals and 1 assist during these international friendlies."

Furthermore, the MLS office identified the match between LAFC and the San Jose Earthquakes, scheduled for the 14th at Levi's Stadium in San Jose, California, as one of the highly anticipated games of the upcoming round.

"We expect around 45,000 spectators to gather at Levi's Stadium," the office stated, adding, "It appears a significant portion of them will be visiting the stadium to see Son Heung-min, the league's top box-office draw."
