On the 12th, Lee Chan-jin, Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), stated regarding the FSS's organizational restructuring, "We are gravely concerned about the inefficiency of organizational separation and the weakening of independence and neutrality due to its designation as a public institution."

According to the FSS Labor Union, Chairman Lee made these remarks during a meeting with acting union chairman Jeong Bo-seop and emergency committee chairman Yoon Tae-wan this morning, saying, "The management deeply empathizes with the fact that despite various efforts, an outcome that employees did not want has occurred."

He added, "We will strive to fully reflect the opinions of union members and employees in the discussions with relevant agencies and the legislative process for designing detailed operational plans going forward."

The union stated today, "We will expand our struggle to withdraw the separation of the FSS and the designation as a public institution, and we will hold a rally in front of the National Assembly next week with all employees participating to fight," and demanded, "Please do your utmost to ensure that the FSS's position is actively reflected in the consultation process with the National Assembly and relevant agencies."

It was also reported that the union conveyed its consideration of a full-scale strike in the future.

Meanwhile, FSS employees continued their "black attire protest" for the fourth day today.

Employees stated that discussions are underway on the bill for the establishment of the Financial Supervisory Commission and amendments to individual financial industry laws, and urged executives and others to take action.

Chairman Yoon Tae-wan emphasized, "The bill for the establishment of the Financial Supervisory Commission was notified to the FSS in a hasty manner three days ago, and each financial industry law was notified the very next evening," adding, "They must take the lead in this silent battlefield to reflect our claims."
