Lee Choon-geun, International Political Scientist Since President Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2025, rapid political changes have been occurring worldwide. During Trump's 8-month term, various countries around the globe have experienced crises of regime change and national division. Just a few days ago, regimes in Thailand and Nepal were replaced. The countries experiencing regime crises, meaning those undergoing hardship, share a striking commonality: they each possess at least one of the following characteristics: pro-China, dictatorial, or left-leaning.  

   As soon as Trump began his second term, he launched an aggressive foreign policy. To start, he threatened to impose massive tariffs on Canada and Mexico, countries geographically close to the United States. Canada has been a traditional friend of the U.S., and its population is overwhelmingly anti-China, yet the Trudeau administration had a strong pro-China, left-leaning disposition. Trudeau, who was severely ridiculed by Trump as a "governor," stepped down from power, but a new government under Mark Carney, another left-leaning administration, was established. The Canadian people launched another left-leaning government in defiance of Trump, who disrespected them. However, Trump's scheme ultimately succeeded. While Canada established another left-leaning government, angry right-leaning provinces in Western Canada revolted. Wealthy right-leaning provinces like Alberta, which accounts for 84% of Canada's oil production, and sympathetic right-leaning provinces in the West declared their pursuit of independence, stating they no longer wished to live under an eastern left-leaning government. They have even spoken of seeking annexation by the United States as a state after independence. Trump's unrealistic idea of making all of Canada the 51st U.S. state is becoming a very realistic possibility for right-leaning Canadian provinces like Alberta to become the 51st U.S. state.  

   Left-leaning governments in Europe are also engulfed in political instability. The German, British, and French governments, which have historically shown pro-Islamic, pro-immigration, anti-Christian, and pro-China tendencies, are all currently in a state of severe instability. With 2,000 mosques in the UK, 2,600 in France, and 2,750 in Germany, these nations are no longer strongholds of Western Christian civilization. The Trump administration has formulated plans to replace the regimes in these European countries. In the election held last February, Germany's right-wing party, the AfD, rose to second place with U.S. support, and Alice Weidel, the leader of the AfD, is currently leading in polls for the next German chancellor.  

   French President Macron, notorious for his left-leaning, pro-China, and "woke" stances, is also facing extreme public resistance. The individual receiving the highest support for the next French presidency is the conservative right-winger Marine Le Pen, who is a remarkable 18% ahead of the second-place candidate. Britain's Prime Minister Keir Starmer is also known for his left-leaning and pro-Islamic views, but his government is being shaken by the largest anti-government protest in British history, held on September 3rd. The individual topping the polls as the next prime ministerial candidate is Nigel Farage of the Reform Party, who is often called the "Trump of Britain." Austria is also certain to see a transition to a conservative government, and right-wing conservative governments are already in power in Poland and Italy, among other countries.  

   This is not confined to Europe. Pro-China and dictatorial regimes worldwide are collapsing one after another. Immediately after returning from observing China's military parade on September 3, 2025, the Prime Ministers of Nepal and Thailand were ousted. Similarly, the Indonesian Prime Minister, who had also visited China, may not be able to hold onto his position for much longer. South America's pro-China, left-leaning regimes, such as Brazil's, are also faltering, and Venezuela is facing direct intervention from the United States. Venezuela, which China had heavily invested in as a bridgehead for its expansion into the Americas, saw $50 billion of China's $150 billion investment in South America concentrated there. Last summer, Iran's nuclear development plan was thwarted, and the future of Khamenei's pro-China dictatorial regime became uncertain.

   The reason why pro-China, left-leaning, and dictatorial regimes are faltering worldwide is self-evident. Their left-leaning policies have impoverished their populations, while those in power have indulged in their own extravagant luxury through corruption. The collapse of left-leaning countries is an inevitable outcome and the prevailing trend in 21st-century global politics. Behind the reality of these events unfolding at such a rapid pace is President Trump, who will serve as the protector of freedom, democracy, and Christian civilization, and who, much like President Reagan defeated the Soviet Union in the First Cold War, will defeat China in the Second Cold War. Trump's America is pursuing complete hegemony. Much like President Wilson did, Trump is creating a world where freedom and democracy are secure.
