The People Power Party announced on the 18th that it would file a complaint against Democratic Party lawmakers Seo Young-kyo and Boo Seung-chan for alleging that Supreme Court Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae met with former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and others to discuss the direction of President Lee Jae-myung's case.

Choi Eun-seok, the floor leader's chief spokesperson, said this after meeting with reporters following an emergency general meeting of lawmakers held at the People Power Party's central party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the afternoon of the same day.

Choi, the floor spokesperson, stated, "We plan to file a complaint for defamation and other charges against the Supreme Court Chief Justice for publicly mentioning these matters in the National Assembly or elsewhere, despite knowing they were false facts." He added, "The complaint will be submitted as soon as its drafting is complete."

In a statement, Choi, the floor spokesperson, also criticized, "The Democratic Party's scheme to oust Chief Justice Cho is an unprecedented political maneuver in constitutional history," and called it "a dangerous act that threatens the judicial justice of the Republic of Korea, going beyond mere political attack."

He continued, "Democratic Party lawmakers must be held fully accountable for distorting and manipulating public opinion with blatant lies."
