A soldier collapsed and died after returning to his unit following training at an artillery unit in the border area of northern Gyeonggi Province.

According to the military on the 19th, Private A (23) collapsed at a certain army artillery unit in Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, around 3 p.m. the previous day. He was transported to the hospital but passed away.

The unit had conducted training at a position near the base that morning as part of a combat readiness exercise.

Private A is reported to have lost consciousness and collapsed after returning to the unit, finishing training, and organizing training equipment.

Military investigators and the police are investigating the detailed circumstances.
