The conservative camp has argued that Lee Jae-myung, who is visiting the U.S. to give a speech at the UN General Assembly, should be arrested and sent to the International Criminal Court. The intention is for the UN to hold him accountable for violating UN sanctions in connection with alleged illegal inter-Korean fund transfers.

Meanwhile, President Lee Jae-myung and his delegation arrived in New York on the 22nd (Monday), beginning their 5-day, 3-night U.S. visit.

Lee Jae-myung, who met with Larry Fink, CEO of the left-wing asset management firm BlackRock, and a delegation of U.S. senators and representatives, will deliver a keynote speech at the UN General Assembly on the 23rd.

He plans to declare the return of a 'democratic Republic of Korea' and outline the South Korean government's diplomatic vision, including its Korean Peninsula policy, Yonhap News reported.

Furthermore, it is predicted that he will deliver a message calling for international cooperation for denuclearization while simultaneously urging North Korea to engage in dialogue.

On the 24th, he is scheduled to preside over a UN Security Council (UNSC) open debate for the first time as a South Korean leader.

In addition, during this U.S. visit, bilateral meetings are scheduled with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the leaders of France, Italy, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic, and Poland.
