Kim Ha-seong (29), the starting shortstop for the Atlanta Braves in Major League Baseball (MLB), has resumed his hitting streak.
On the 25th (Korean time), Kim Ha-seong started at shortstop and batted fifth in the home game against the Washington Nationals at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, recording one hit in four at-bats.
His season batting average remained at .250 (40 hits in 160 at-bats).
In his first at-bat in the second inning, Kim Ha-seong made contact after a six-pitch at-bat against left-handed starter Andrew Alvarez, hitting a ball that barely cleared the infield.
Washington's second baseman Luis Garcia Jr. leaped with all his might, but the ball grazed his glove and rolled towards center field.
Kim Ha-seong, whose 10-game hitting streak was broken the previous day when he failed to get a hit, opened his account again just one day later.
After a walk and a ground ball by the following batters, Kim Ha-seong advanced to third base. However, with two outs and runners on first and third, Nacho Alvarez Jr. flied out, preventing him from scoring.
He failed to add to his hit total in his subsequent three at-bats.
In the fourth inning with one out and a runner on second, he hit a well-struck ball towards left field, but the opposing left fielder caught it after retreating to the warning track.
Atlanta lost the game 3-4, ending their 10-game winning streak.
Washington outfielder James Wood hit two home runs in the game, reaching the 30-homer mark for the season.
Lee Jung-hoo's Swing Resulting in His 31st Double of the Season [Imagn Images=Yonhap News]
'The Grandson of the Wind' Lee Jung-hoo (27, San Francisco Giants) hit a double after a long time, contributing to his team's victory.
Lee Jung-hoo started in center field batting sixth in the home game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, recording one hit in four at-bats.
Lee Jung-hoo's season batting average slightly decreased from .261 to .260 (143 hits in 549 at-bats).
In his first at-bat in the second inning with the score tied 0-0 and a runner on second, Lee Jung-hoo hit the first pitch from St. Louis starter Sonny Gray, driving the ball deep into left-center field.
He reached second base safely, and the runner who was on second scored in the meantime.
This was Lee Jung-hoo's 31st double of the season and his first in 28 days since the Chicago Cubs game on the 28th of last month.
However, the official scorer ruled that the runner on second scored due to an error by the center fielder, and Lee Jung-hoo's RBI was not credited.
Lee Jung-hoo failed to add any more hits in his subsequent three at-bats.
San Francisco won 4-3, with Andrew Nunez's go-ahead triple in the bottom of the eighth inning breaking the 3-3 tie. Yonhap News
